HORSEs*** call at 2nd base. Ump watching for a tag and not where Rowand was. His hand was clearly on the bag.

What is it with these base umpires f***ing up the calls?

Goddamnit, get it right.

I missed the replay and thought he was out the first time, you must have gotten a better look

I think he overslid the base, and then he tagged him. Doesn't really matter anymore.

Rivas never tagged Rowand after he slid past 2nd. Rowand should have been safe, but that's a very tough call for the umpire to have to watch both the tag and the hand on the base. Just my view on the call.

No, the only tag he put on him was when he was sliding in. No tag whatsoever after he overslid.

Bad call, plain and simple.

Not only that, an obvious bad call. He's too busy looking for a tag instead of staying with the play and watching where Rowand's hand is.

I can't believe we're still talking about this.

Dead on right. His hand was on the base when he got tagged, and he was never tagged after the overslide. It was a blown call.

I said it in the chat, but I'll say it here -- Ozzie's delegating Marte to LOOGY roles pisses me off.  He's clearly been our best reliever the past three seasons, and it's bulls*** that he's getting so few innings...

I completely agree. Marte should have been in to face Jones in the 8th inning. Hermanson struggles against lefty batters, and Marte's one of the best in baseball against lefties. If you're going to use him as a loogy, at least use him properly.
