Guest JimH
He can't pitch 2 innings every night. Marte has to do the job now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Absolutely correct.
RockRaines
Its not his fastball, it never was fast. He isnt throwing breaking balls for strikes like he did last year. Now all they do is wait for the fastball.

He was a starting pitcher before. He should have the arm strength for it.
EvilMonkey
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:43 AM) Its not his fastball, it never was fast. He isnt throwing breaking balls for strikes like he did last year. Now all they do is wait for the fastball. THAT is the key. When they can wait on a fastball, or take a walk, he will get pounded. He needs to get that damn curve, or frisbee, or whatever, over the plate.

fathom
However, Shingo's fastball was quick enough that if players were sitting on his slow stuff, he could get it past them. Shingo threw more fastballs past people than almost anyone else on our staff last year......who f***ing cares, IT'S OVER!
RockRaines
It seems to me like he is trying to locate his breaking balls so they swing and miss. He should just worry about changing speeds and throwing all the pitches for strikes.
Punch and Judy Garland
your arm strength changes with roles. You need to be re-stretched out to go a few innings

Shingo threw more fastballs past people than almost anyone else on our staff last year......who f***ing cares, IT'S OVER! Let them sit on the frisbee all they want. Do you realize how hard it is to hit that ball anywhere. it drops a foot, its going 65 MPH, its almost impossible to hit out of the park. Bar none, throw strikes. Punch and Judy Garland
Another semi-ugly one but the Duke battled. Great to pickup two form Minnesota. Still, I think you guys know what the story from this one will ulitmately be.......

thomsonmi
The story should be El Duque. Who cares about Shingo? We have plenty of quality relievers to step in and take his place while he finds the strike zone.
Guest JimH
Minnesota left 12 guys, had double digit hits, and scored one run. They have got to be just a little bit frustrated. Minnesota could have easily won both games, Sox pitching executed and kept them off the board. By the way, Takatsu's pitch to Stewart for the double, he left it up in the zone. Not a good pitch. The pitch to fat ass Matt Lecroy was down and away and a good piece of hitting by the chubster.
