rangercal
QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:50 AM) Yep. But I don't know how many different beers they have in the bar.. I would guess they don't have all those from the around the world stand upstairs. hmm 5.50 a beer * 10 = 55.50 plus food ,parking, and awesome seats? I think thats not a bad deal. LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) The full priced ticket is a gurantee that you will be in that seat. Otherwise you don't know if you'll be buying a s***ty seat or a great seat. That's the difference with the premiem price tag. I understand that, but like I said in my example, the same is true of being a season ticket holder. As a season ticket holder, you're guaranteed that seat. On a half price night, the guy next to you might have paid half price. Just curious, how do they reward the upgrade at other parks, like Miller? Controlled Chaos
QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) Eye.. that is sooo funny you posted that.. Jim and I said the exact same thing last night. They do that in Milwaukee and it's a cool thing. They do it at the Bulls games cause the people they brought down sat in the row right next to where I was. Right behind the basket after the media tables. Benny the Bull and Southpaw brought them down from the upper deck. I screamed Southpaw and everyone looked at me like an idiot. Not too many people know who he is.
southsider2k5
QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) hmm 5.50 a beer * 10 = 55.50 plus food ,parking, and awesome seats? I think thats not a bad deal. Really if you think about it, those were $40 seats last year right? So you take $40 for the seat, $17 for the parking (really more because it is a private area right next to the park/entrance. Right there you are up to $57. And then say 5 beers at $6 (include tips in reality) is another $30, plus you could probably add $20 in food easily. Right there you are up to almost $110, while not really drinking or eating a lot. Throw in the the fact that you won't have to wait in lines for bathrooms, you have a parking lot right next to the stadium, you have a waitress who brings you food and drinkings so you don't have to miss the game or wait for a vendor, you won't have obnoxious fans who paid half price to sit next to you and ruin your night, the seats are RIGHT behind homeplate etc... The price isn't out of line at all.

As a season ticket holder I welcome it. I'm fortunate enough to have the $$ to spend $$ on tickets.. I have no problem with the casual fan getting a treat. I'd assume Sox-Cubs is sold, any others?? I would guess yes for the Cubs since they offered them for single games. No idea on the others. Possibly the Yanks.. I would say very likely for Boston also. And now that I'm thinking about it.. I bet they sold most if not all of them for the LA series.

See, now for some of THOSE games, $170.00 is actually a steal, if you're looking for great seats. A broker, or scalper is gonna want a LOT more than that. I bet those have been long gone though. marsh
In order to get maximum return on the all you can eat and drink service, I would suggest not sitting there for a burly-mon start. Pick a Contreras game and strap 'er down for a nice 3+ hour game. If mark is pitching the game will be over after a dog and beer.

YASNY
Giving season ticket holders the option of filling those empty scout seats would be the thing to do, I'd think.
quickman
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Not to mention that parking is included, and it is in a reserved area with a private entrance that takes you underneath the stadium directly to your seats without passing through the masses in the rest of the crowd. They might have a big price tag, but they are worth it if you can do it. Spoken like a guy who gets his seats for free.

quickman
As a season ticket holder I am offered these seats if available for 125 a game but does not include food or drink. I will probably take them up on it for a few games. If they were 125 with food and drink I would be all over them. for a full season.
