BHAMBARONS
Charlotte (1-12) @ Toledo Jacksonville @ Birmingham (9-3) Potomac @ Winston-Salem (6-7) Hickory @ Kannapolis (8-6)
Guest JimH
I'd hoped to take a leisurely drive to Toledo and catch a game or two of this series but it didn't work out. They have a great ballpark there and there's an excellent brewpub nearby. Not a whole bunch else to Toledo but Port Clinton and the islands are not far away. Charlotte 1-12, that's awful. One would think they'd win more than one game out of their first 13 by dumb luck. At least Brian Anderson is doing well.

BHAMBARONS
Jacksonville 15 Barons 8 W-Hull L-Pacheco Pacheco 2.2 IP 5H 6R 3BB 2K's Hull 5IP 7H 4R BB 6K's Barons Box Good-Hitting was good Young and Owens had solid games 3 Hit games Rogoswski had a 4 hit game Blakely hit a long homerun. Bad-Pitching Pacheco, Pollok, Glenn all were awful Just to watch Pollok pitch one would have to buy a bottle of rolaids just to get through the outing. Team looked like it gave up tonight after Ria Cortesio made some calls that make me wonder how she even graduated Umpiring School. Notes- Razor Shines was tossed from his first game as a Baron but he had to take a stand for his Team as Cortesio carried a grude from yesterday's game in to tonight and that is totally unexceptable. Barons leave for Montgomery tomorrow for a weekend set with first place Biscuits Edited April 22, 2005 by BHAMBARONS
DBAHO
As I said previously Charlotte beat Toledo 8-2. Villacis gave up 2 runs in 3 innings and Munoz pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief as did Stephens, Walker and Baj. Jorge Toca hit 2 home runs going 4 for 5, Borch was 1 for 5 with 2 runs, and Anderson was 0 for 3 with a BB. Kanny beat Hickory 4-3. Adam Russell pitched 5 innings giving up 1 ER. Little picked up the win with 3 innings of scoreless relief. Hansen homered and Castillo went 3 for 4.

The Barons left fielder made a great shoestring catch and it appeared the Suns runner on third never tagged up and waltzed home to score. The Barons appealed at third and Cortesio called the runner safe. Did I see this correctly or did the Suns runner indeed tag up? Thanks for anyone's input... No he didn't tag up left on contact and it should have been an inning ending DP but what really got me was her changing strike zone it would have been nice if we got half of the calls the Suns got. There is no doubt in my mind this all happened becuase of play on Wensday where Razor called her out on a blown HR call and she carried it over into last nights game which is totally uncalled for

I appreciate your Barons recaps and I agree, that was the worst officiating I have seen at the Met. I dont' think I've ever been so angry at a baseball game before. I ended up leaving early because I couldn't take it any longer!
BHAMBARONS
QUOTE(mannyfast @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Thanks! I ended up leaving early because I couldn't take it any longer! The only reason I stayed was I had finish scoring the game for minor league solutions but with the calls that were made I don't even see a reason to look at that game because the results are skewed
CWSGuy406
Awesome! Two people now who can give live reports about how our Barons are doing... Manny, I hope to see you post a little more, live inputs would be greatly appreciated by a whole bunch of us here. Yours and BB's eyes are really our only source of a 'beyond the box score' perspective, and any input you have would be, like I said, greatly appreciated. Tom is doing a great job keeping everyone up on the day to day. I'll continue to contribute, but perhaps in a mostly editorial sense, rather than the daily game updates. There's plenty of room on the bus. Glad you hopped on, Tom.
