shagar69
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Tomlinson, Gates, and M. Williams is just ridiculous talent at the skill positions. yes. It would be one of the biggest steals ever IMO if williams fell that far. And same with rodgers. When the hell is he gonna go now? 15 at the earliest? AnthraxFan93
Maybe we can address the MLB postion now that we took a RB WTF, Benson would have been there if we traded down and got a 3rd or another 2nd pick.. This is the first time I can not praise JA for his draft pick. But, we all should have seen this coming with RON Shoop/John Turner we need a quality RB who can run the ball 3yards and fall down. The idea of high scoring offense is a thing of the past.. So much for a change.. Same Bears
Soxfest
Why is everyone down on Benson, guys we just got a PRO BOWL RB in next 2 to 3 yrs,you can save this post. Get a WR in 2nd round and have a great start to draft.
shagar69
wow, the lions are stacked. Rogers, Williams and Williams. we really f***ed up now, letting williams go to Det.
soxhawks
the lions now have just about the most talented recieving corps with one of teh s***tiest qb's in the league

EvilJester99
Benson is a big time back, its just with Williams still on the board and the Bears need more help at WR, I would have rather seen them draft Williams instead...
JUGGERNAUT
They learned nothing from drafting Spellman. Benson is a problem child RB. Williams is a proto-typical WR with stardom written across his resume. The Bears should have drafted down a few spots & used that pick to get Williams. nitetrain8601
Well I think Mike Williams would've been more useful than Benson who's going to be at most splitting time with Jones until the end of the season. Unless you're dumping Jones, then Benson doesn't make as much sense as Williams. Hopefully Jones is dumped and Turner uses his guy the whole season. Anyone have any ideas on who we pick 2nd round? chimpy2121
I want Heath Miller or Mark Clayton if they are there, but I highly doubt they will be. You never know though, I didnt think Johnson was going to last til 15.
EvilJester99
At least the Vikes didn't get Derrick Johnson... I was hoping some how the Bears would find a way to get him...I knew he wouldn't last that long though.
Jabroni
And yet he broke down halfway through the year. When Thomas Jones puts it all together for one season, let me know. Benson put up the best numbers out of the three backs -- Caddy, Brown, and Benson. I could see you guys being upset about not having Mike Williams, but that's not to say Benson isn't a solid player. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, not to mention that Benson is by far the best blocker of the three RB's. That's a huge plus as well.
Soxfest
2nd round guess 1.Te-Miller if still there no brainer 2.CB best available 3.WR R.Brown my guess. Bears want to drop RW and Azunah is FA at end of year, why i think CB.
Jordan4life_2007
I'm cool with the Benson pick, even though I wanted Brown. We get a premier power back to compliment Jones in this new run oriented rushing attack Turner/Lovie/Angelo have been talking about since the season ended. GoodAsGould
rather than a CB id rather have us draft Brodney Poole with that 2nd pick if he is available. Priority list: 1. Heath Miller 2. Brodney Poole 3. Reggie Brown
SoxFan1
I hope that Bordney Pool is there with the 39.......and the Bears pick him. Him or Miller would be nice.

SoxFan1
How about Odell Thurman 39th? Solid LB out of Georgia. He might fit in niceley next to BU and Briggs!

SoxFan1
WR still available: Reggie Brown, Georgia Mark Bradley, Oklahoma Jerome Mathis, Hampton Roscoe Parrish, Miami
Punch and Judy Garland
Benson's interview after makes you feel a little less good about the pick but it's not a bad one. I do worry that Williams is going to really try to make Chicago and Minnesota big time victims for passing on him. I feel that they should go outside linebacker and I feel that they will. Lovie heavily hinted at that the other day. I think they will wait until the third for a reciever or move up into the end of the second if they really like someone. Angelo's drafts in the first have been questionable but he's done well in rounds 2-4 the last few years.
SoxFan1
Pool, Mathis, Ruud, or Thurman........one of those 4 will be Bears.
