Jabroni
"Contreras tries to stretch streak to six Chicago (13-4) at Kansas City (5-12), 6:10 p.m. CT" KANSAS CITY -- Jose Contreras has never lost to the Royals, and he's never lost in Kauffman Stadium. The 33-year-old right-hander can maintain those streaks Saturday night when he takes the hill for the White Sox against the struggling Royals, who have lost three straight, and nine of their last 11 games. Conversely, the Sox have won five straight, and nine of their last 11, and have relied on strong starting pitching the whole way. Sox starters are 10-3 and lead the American League with a 2.88 ERA. Contreras is no exception to that trend, though he has no wins to his credit. He can pick of his first win of the season -- and his first in Kauffman Stadium since last Oct. 3, when he allowed one run in six innings -- Saturday night. Pitching matchup CWS: RHP Jose Contreras • 0-0, 3.63 ERA in 2005 • 2-0, 2.75 in 2004 against KC KC: RHP Zack Greinke • 0-1, 3.38 ERA in 2005 • 1-2, 5.60 in 2004 against CWS Player to watch Second baseman Willie Harris has started just three games this season but it's a good bet he'll start his fourth Saturday against the Royals. Why? Because Harris batted 6-for-10 last season against Royals' right-hander Zack Greinke. Harris is also a .372 (16-for-43) career hitter in Kauffman Stadium, his best average in any park other than Toronto's Rogers Centre. Quotable "In the name of AT. aboz56
QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) Just to throw some info out there... Here was the question on Sportscenter "Who will make the Playoffs?: Cubs or White Sox" Jeff Brantley: "Chicago is gonna be real sad come October because no matter how hot the Sox start, they wont make it. Take a look over in Minnesota." It's still early and he has a point with the way Minny has played the past three seasons. On the other hand, I think the Twins and Sox have a nice shot at the Wild Card.

Rowand44
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) It's still early and he has a point with the way Minny has played the past three seasons. On the other hand, I think the Twins and Sox have a nice shot at the Wild Card. I could care less what people on ESPN say about the team and Minny still should be the favorite but his reasoning was idiotic. Anyways, I got a bad feeling about this game. Hopefully Jose will throw some strikes today, GO SOX!!!

GreatScott82
Over the past 3 seasons many critics (even ESPN people) have picked the Sox to win the division. They are all just probably sick of being wrong. You figure the Twins have won 3 straight AL Central titles, of course they are going to pick them. Plus they are ignorant, because they see we lost Maggs and Lee. But i guess they are blind because we also have: Garcia, Contreras, and Everett for a full season. And added: Pierzynski, Podsednick, Iguchi, Dye, Visciano, Hermanson, and El-duque. This is the best fundamental White Sox team i have ever seen, and if the pitching keeps up, i dont see how we can't make the playoffs? Even if it is the Wild-Card, i'll take it! Go Sox!! Jabroni
I'm surprised Willie isn't playing 2nd. He has done very well against Greinke in limited at bats and another lefty in the lineup wouldn't be a bad thing.
