retro1983hat
Yes, yes, yes it's early, but JD looks absolutely awful on many at-bats. When he pinch hit on Sunday he looked absolutely lost at the plate. He is going to be a key, along with his partner with a pathetic batting average, Aaron Rowand. EvilJester99
I think Jermaine will end up being fine. He is a notorious slow starter but he is a veteran and will pick it up I am sure...
greasywheels121
I want Dye to do well so bad. Though he was a Sox killer while in KC and Oakland, he just seemed like a good guy. I like what he did this offseason, staying true to his word with the Sox, after being offered more money. I guess this thread might help. The Crede threads just resulted in a 14 game hitting streak. Rowand's bashing thread over the weekend resulted in 2 crucial hits in the Saturday and Sunday games. I guess it's Dye's turn. If he and Rowand can get hot, we should be fine once the inevitable losing streak comes.
The Critic
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Bad title for a thread, IMO. Agreed. Maybe "Jermaine Dyed" would be better, so people would know right off that it's a play on words. ...although "Dyed" could just mean he got his hair colored.... Punch and Judy Garland
Dye may rebound to be the player he was on Oakland but it is safe to say that the KC era of his career that some were hoping for is long since past. WIth Frank out longer than expected, Jermaine needs to step up. That said, pressure is not really a huge factor when you are winning. I'm confident he'll turn it around, but I still feel he's probably pressing himself early on. Every player wants to do well for their new team. fathom
Something I've noticed with Dye is that he seems to be taking a ton of first pitch fastballs right down the plate for strikes. Then, when he gets to two strikes, he's showing no patience and swinging at sliders that are well off the plate. He's not giving himself a real good chance to have a quality at-bat. I don't follow the Sox or this board as much during the offseason as I do now, who offered him more money and what's the story with the whole situation? Y2HH
The Rangers did. And Dye said, sorry but I already agreed verbally with the Sox, so I'm going to sign that contract, and sign it he did. It was refreshing to see a guy keep his word.
