even if he has the best angle it's still a close call when you don't have the benefit of instant replay. a blown call to me is something obvious when seen live.

 

My take is, either it's right or wrong. Froemming gets zero benefit of the doubt on the whole close play issue because he was completely out of position. No excuses, I realize they are human but give yourself the best possible chance to make the correct call. He didn't and that's why I'm pissed.

EXACTLY! All you can ask from the umpire is that they put themselves in the best possible position to make the call. Umps are going to make the wrong call sometimes, but that's a lot better than blowing the call because you're too lazy to move into position to get a good view.
