the sox will draw well for the first game back on friday nite? as it stands right now, the best avail tickets are in Section 120, the first section of the lower deck box seats.

I was hoping for at least 25k as a welcome back after a road trip that can go no worse than 6-2 and at worst a 2 game lead on the Twins.

As long as the weather is nice I think the Sox will have a good draw. They're the hottest team in baseball right now, they're well in first place and there's a nice little buzz about them in the media. I think over 30 is pretty likely.

Nothing will ever be as magical like the first home game back from that road trip in 2000. After we spanked the Indians and the Yankees, going 8-0 on that trip, the Monday night home crowd was electric!!

The spontaneous standing ovation that occured during the old White Sox sonata was incredible.

Sox Pride was at it's peak!

We can repeat that again this season, when the time is right.

Just thinking that. I was at that game. If I remember correctly, Kip Wells pitched a hell of game, too.

I'll be cheering them on Saturday, anyway.

They must have released more tickets for this weekend than were previously available. I checked yesterday and the entire lower bowl was sold out. Today, they had for Saturday's game - four seats/ninth row/sec 145.

Might have had somethng to do with whatever discount they are running this weekend. And yes, the weather will suck. If we can get to the Orioles series still hot, that's when attendance will take off.

This was in the Trib today FWIW

The Sox have received a boost in ticket sales as the result of their recent surge.

The ticket office reported that it sold 10,000 tickets last weekend, an increase from 4,000 that were sold the previous weekend when the team was starting a five-game homestand.

The Sox also had 10 people working in the ticket office last weekend to meet the demands. They usually have three people working in advance sales on weekends.

7-0

Yes, Wells pitched. I was there. I especially liked that everyone stood and cheered every time he got 2 strikes on somebody.

great game... the crowd cheering for every third out.. truely an experience.. although it biased me in favor of kip wells... I still like kip.....

as far as attendence... for some reason friday (versus other days of the week) games are poorly attended... don't know why??? I like weekend games more, but who am I...

I prefer the Friday night games, less kids, fewer people seem to leave the game early, maybe because they don't have to be up in the morning, lots of drinking, but not the amatuers that show up for fight night, just a good party crowd.

Hate Sunday games, too many kids, but like you said... who am I?

I heard this upcoming Detroit series was selling real well. After all, it was gonna be Boo Maggs weekend. :headshake

What about the Magglio Ordonez Tuesday? Somebody should talk to Brooks about that one.
