CSF
Ugh, what is it about short right field where our fielders forget how to play? 2 yrs ago, it was Jimenez dropping an easy popup for a 3 run error. Yesterday, it was Dye dropping a fly for an error. Let's get the win today and get the hell out of that craphole.

People are forgetting that Oakland's LF dropped a catchable flyball that allowed Rowand to score. As I've been saying .. this kind of s*** happens

Nuke said he got a bad break. Isn't that the OF's fault? Wouldn't a good break have made that ball even more catchable?
AirScott
I just want to say that game last night was 3 notches above excruciating. we did the same sort of thing vs. KC, but we somehow won that one. we will not beat good teams making 4 (3? was that a type-o in the box score?) errors and balking in the tying run. it also showed the flaws this team has: a shaky bullpen and little depth. True. But every team has flaws unless you have one of those magical seasons where everyone plays above their head.
AirScott
one more point: the fact is that even though the bullpen is shaky, Ozzie needs to be able to trust it. if the score is 7-3 going into the bottom of the 7th, and Buehrle starts showing signs of wear, go to Damaso, Vizcaino, or Hermanson. go to a fresh arm to finish the game, that's why the have the bullpen. plus, Buehrle isn't going to go 9 innings every time he starts. Kid Gleason
You know how "we" got f'ed over last night? The game was on the West Coast and started late enough that I didn't get to see the end of the game and went to bed before I could see the ending. I hate that. I'll agree with that. That decision to stick with Mark was Ozzie's contribution to last night's fiasco. After the lead off hit in the bottom of the 7th, I was saying "Get him out of there". I like what Ozzie's doing with this team, but I wanted him to pull Buehrle.
EvilJester99
I was shocked when I woke up to see the Sox lost 9 - 7. I went to bed it was 3 - 0 Sox and it was going into the 5th....I thought Mark was cruising getting DPs when needed and all that. Then it seems all hell broke out... oh well one of those bad nights. They have to put it behind them and win today...

GoodAsGould
I can see how people are being pissed at Jermaine Dye.... I mean when your a starter and your not hitting worth a damn, than you go and make 2 mistakes in the field.... that pisses you off. But to be mad at Willie Harris who made a mistake when he was playing a position he hasnt played since like his college days..... thats just :banghead Did Willie make an error against the royals, yes... but he also got some hits in that game to make it up and errors happen to everyone, but dont blame him for making a mistake playing out of position. SoxFan1
What killed us most was: 1) Dye's throw to 3rd allowing the baserunner 2nd 2) Ozuna's botch at 3rd 3) Willies botch as SS 4) Froemmings BS call at home 5) 3rd Base Umps BS call on the balk.......which it was not, he stepped off THEN pulled his hands apart
WilliamTell
I'd personally rather win 2 of 3 in Oakland than sweep Kansas City. That may sound strange but we've struggled out west, especially in Oakland. Let's get that win tonight White Sox!!
Kid Gleason
I don't really blame the Umps or Willie. Sometimes we get calls, sometimes we don't. Willie was out there cold and is not normally a SS. He looked awkward getting to the ball even. I blame it all on poor play last night. We eventually had to lose, and there is was. We played poorly, and the result this time was what happens when you play poorly. Both teams actually looked terrible last night, so maybe it was something in the air. My concern is that we have had two games very recently now where the defense fell apart in a terrible way. One of them we won, one we lost. I am just hoping that it isn't a sign of the defense starting on a slump before the bats really get going.
Rowand44
QUOTE(AirScott @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) one more point: the fact is that even though the bullpen is shaky, Ozzie needs to be able to trust it. if the score is 7-3 going into the bottom of the 7th, and Buehrle starts showing signs of wear, go to Damaso, Vizcaino, or Hermanson. go to a fresh arm to finish the game, that's why the have the bullpen. plus, Buehrle isn't going to go 9 innings every time he starts. I completely disagree about the bullpen being shaky, it's about as solid as it gets. I don't think ozzie kept Mark out there cause he doesn't trust the pen, he kept Mark out there because he's our ace, was it a mistake--maybe but in no way do I think he kept him out there cause he doesn't trust the pen.
