We need to win this game and get ourselves a well deserved day off and a ticket back home.

Wether the sox win or lose its a great road trip but I think tomorrow is important because it can show a lot of things about our team. The A's don't phaze them anymore, everyones ok, they can come back from bad games and still keep up their attitude.

This is one of the main reason's baseball is my favorite sport.  You don't have to wait around for 3 days to a week to avenge a bulls*** loss.

Freddy had better drill one of the A'ss players tomorrow. It was obvious that the HBP by Harden was completely intentional.

Dye had a decent offensive game yesterday but we are facing another righty today. April is coming to a close and Rowand appears to be hitting again. Rowand's average is now up to .260 and he has been pretty clutch the past few games. Dye seems to be the anti-clutch inning-ender. I think it's time to bat Rowand 5th and drop Dye down in the order.

I thought Carl was going to go kick his ass for it too. He sure had a lot to say to whoever would listen after he got hit.

But on the other hand, Harden did his business like a pro. He didn't headhunt Carl, instead he plunked him in the middle section of his body, and didn't give him that 97 mph fastball to do it with.

I know that they weren't all intentional but 4 HBP in the first two games of the series is unacceptable. I know we want to win the series badly and don't want to help the A's out but Freddy had better get some revenge for the boys today and drill one of their guys in the ass. So far in the series, Ozuna has been drilled twice, Crede once, and Carl once. Ozuna could have a broken hand/wrist. He had X-Rays last night but no results have been released yet.

Moreso, its time to let Timo play in RF today. Let Dye have back to back days off after the debachle that was him in Right Field last night.

So he can sit and have that error eat at him for two days? I strongly disagree. Dye's a good outfielder and he was finally hitting the ball with authority last night. He needs to play.

Agreed. He finally had a good offensive game last night. But now that Rowand is starting to hit, I think he should be batting 5th instead of Dye.

Also don't forget to make your picks to clicks... the average number of people has started to slide down a little bit, so the competition might be getting a little easier. Remember for the first time there is a fabulous prize for the winner. I am going to try to get another prize or two, maybe for the YNOT winner, or for runners up prizes in the pick to click.

Dont do anything stupid like that unless the game is out of reach. If you watch any hockey that's the oldest dirty trick in the book. The opposition goads you into doing something stupid like that and it ends up costing you big time. Have a long memory though and when a good opportunity presents itself ( like the game being out of reach ) then fire away.

Game 3 notes:

White Sox eye rebound in matinee finale

White Sox (16-5) at Oakland (10-11), 2:35 p.m. CT

The White Sox had played seven series prior to this three-game set in Oakland.

They won two against Cleveland, one against Minnesota, one against Seattle and swept the Twins (two games), Tigers (two games) and Royals. The South Siders try to make it a perfect 8-for-8 in terms of series victories, as they play the rubber match Wednesday afternoon against the A's.

Freddy Garcia appears to be the right man for the job, holding a 10-game winning streak in day starts, until losing to Seattle at home his last afternoon outing on April 17. Garcia is coming off seven solid innings in a victory last Friday at Kansas City.

Kirk Saarloos faces the White Sox for the first time in his career. Keep an eye on Tadahito Iguchi and Aaron Rowand, who both appear to be heating up at the plate as April winds down. Each player had three hits during Tuesday's 9-7 loss.

A.J. Pierzynski also will be back in the White Sox starting lineup. He missed three straight games after being hit by a pitch on the big toe of his right foot.

Pitching matchup

CWS: RHP Freddy Garcia

• 2-1, 3.21 ERA in 2005

• 1-0, 0.66 in 2004 vs. OAK

OAK: RHP Kirk Saarloos

• 1-1, 6.30 ERA in 2005

• Has never faced CWS

Player to watch

Willie Harris made his regular-season, Major League debut at shortstop Tuesday night, and Erubiel Durazo's game-winning single proceeded to roll under his glove and into left field. Harris might be forced into a starting role at shortstop on Wednesday, depending on the health of Juan Uribe and Pablo Ozuna. Both were injured during Tuesday's game.

Quotable

"Games like this will happen. We will get blown out and we are going to blow people out. But when you go out and score seven runs, we shouldn't lose -- especially against (Rich) Harden." -- Mark Buehrle, on Tuesday night's tough setback against Oakland's ace

He is 2-6 with a 4.15 ERA in his career against the A's. ... The White Sox have led in all 21 games this season, the longest streak in club history and the longest in the Majors since San Diego led at some point in its first 22 games in 1998. ... The White Sox have a 10-3 road record, a 10-3 record at night and are 6-1 on this current eight-game road trip. They are 3-2 against the American League West.

Agree, good post.

Farmer and Harrelson have both mentioned the Sox have had 4 guys get plunked vs. the A's zero. They rarely make casual observations about that kind of stuff, IMO they're suggesting to even things up at the right time and place.

The Ozuna plunking wasn't intentional, Pablo kinda turned right into the pitch. The Everett plunking was very obvious and merits payback.
