BHAMBARONS
BARONS 13 Tennessee 2 W-Lubisich (4-0) L- Bass (0-3) Lubisich 6IP 2R 1ER 2BB K Bass 4.1 IP 7R 2BB 4K's Good- The bats awoke and took advantage of the hitting conditions @ Coors Field East as the ball was jummping today. A season high in runs 13 and hits 17. Darren Blakely homered from both sides of the plate the second time he has done at Smokies park in the last year. Josh Feilds had a career day with a five RBI game he picked up 3 with a bases loaded double in the 5th. Blakely also had 5 RBI to with 2 homers. Jerry Owens had a 3 hit game today and scored 2 runs out of the lead off spot and since Owens changed his swing on April 15th Jerry is batting .428 and now raises his overall avg to .303. Chris Young had a 3 hit game today also scoring 3 runs. Blakely also had a 4 hit game this morning. Cory Haggerty had a 2 hits including a ringing double and a perfectly excuted a perfect hit and run. Lubisich was awsome today using his sinker well and making the Tennessee hitters pound it into the ground turning 3 DP's and keeping the ball out of the air. Dwyane Pollok pitched well again. Bad- A couple of error's nothing major though. Notes: Barons now lead the SL South by 1 1/2 games and come home for a 7 game homestand with Kris Honel who NEEDS a good outing starting Tomorrow
Guest JimH
Great info on Owens changing his batting stance. Appreciate it. Barons are doing well with some of our better prospects leading the way.
Randar68
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) since Owens changed his swing does "since Owens changed his swing" = "Changed his batting stance?"
BHAMBARONS
QUOTE(Randar68 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) does "since Owens changed his swing" = "Changed his batting stance?" Yes he did he closed his stance a lot and he pokes at the ball and hit grounders instead of looping the ball and hitting flyballs into the deep Hoover Met. I will try and get a photo of stance tonight I have a pic of the old stance under the Barons Home Opener Thread. I hope that helps
