People, People, People

Yes I know a lot of people, well everyone is pissed at the way this game went, and trust me I am one of them, just ask some people that know me i broke quite a few remots already this year lol But lets look at this as a hole. We had NO bussiness winning this game. We are extreamly undermaned and were lucky to be in the game. Garcia pitched outstanding again, and well the bullpen didnt quite have it tonight. People might be blaming the Umps for the lose, and well, they had a part in it, but why didnt Rowand catch the ball?, why did Freddy leave that pitch down the middle for Durazo the crush? Yes the umps might have been the icing on the cake so to speak, but lets see how well we did this road trip. Coming into this road trip we were 10-4, a .714 winning percentage with a two game lead in the division, now after a outstanding 6-2 road trip which we played 2 ok teams and a crappy team, we are now 16-6 with a .727 winning percentage with a lead of no less then 3.5 games. Now dont get me wrong I no these last two games were very frusterating, but hell we increased are lead and now we come back home to what should be a great crowd over the weekend. As Hawk would say you win 60 and you lose 60, its what you do with the other 42 that count. well lets just put this game into the lose 60 department, and go beat those tigers on friday

GO SOX!!!! :gosox3: :gosox2: :gosoxretro: :gosox4: :gosox1:

SORRY FOR THE RANT lol

I agree with you on all those points...but my big question is this...how do the Sox react to these 2 losses?

These 2 games have been absolute embarassments. We've lost 2 games because we couldn't catch fly balls. Everyone it seems is hurt. People are getting ejected. Couple of bad calls at bases. Jermaine freaking Dye playing short. Middle of our lineup still struggling.

The question is...how does the team respond? These are the kind of games that can really hurt a team for a while, and if we come out sluggish against Detroit, or if Contreras (or Hernandez if we bump him up) has a rough start, then we're looking at the makings of a losing streak, and the team might start worrying. More people might start overswinging...the pitchers might not be as crisp...and so on.

Days like today are the days that test how well you're managed. Ozzie needs to get that team's head in the right place for Friday. If he doesn't...that 3.5 game lead could evaporate really quick.

I also agree with everything that you said. But this is the time, were the team "leaders" have to step up. Be it with a speech before the game, or by them producing on the field. I believe though, that these last 2 games will put a fire under the white sox. there pissed, and now they need to take that anger out on the tigers, i hope they dont try to do to much, just go out there, do your thing, and get another series win!

Yes, we are hurting in more ways then one, but hopefully tomorrows day off will provide a much needed rest and we can come out on a mission friday

As long as the pitching holds up, I won't get upset at all. Stuff happens -- but our G brothers were fantastic, and the biggest weak spot was Buehrle. He'll recover, and the hitting will pick up too (including Dye). Honestly, I think everyone's just upset about the umps, in a close game, you know. I don't feel any different than I did 2 days ago.

This is an important point. Do the Sox fold or use it to play better. In 2000 there was the Tigers fight and they used it for the better. Last year the Hunter incident happened and we folded.

What will happen this year??? I'll be at the games this weekend. Will see how they play.

We need more consistent relief pitching and clutch hitting. I don't see the offesne coming through with runners in scoring position enough and I think we were hititng around .210 with runners in scoring position. The starting pitching is great and will be our leading weapon, however our hitters need to deliver and the relief corp, which lost the last two in Oakland, needs to step up. I think the hitting will come around, but I am not so sure about the pen. I really do think we can win this thing though.

BP allowed all 6 inherited runners to score in the 2 losses including both game winners. Pitiful.

I think we already saw how they would react to this. They gutted this game out, when they had a built in excuse to fold.

Freddy Garcia went out and gave an excellent preformance. I really hope that in the Hunter BS, this does not get forgotten. Garcia put this team on his back, and almost singlehandedly won the game, dispite the odds.

I am extremely proud of this team after today. I wish I could be there Friday to give them a standing O.

And what did Ozzie say to the troops in response? He blamed it on the screwy lineup of course:

“I just had a little meeting and told everyone that I feel proud of my team,’’ Guillen said. “I feel proud because they went out and did all they could to keep this game where we had a chance to win it.

“With the guys all over the place, out of position, I could not be more pleased with the way my team reacted without complaining.’’

The thing that impressed me was all the guys volunteering to play out of position to do whatever they could to win this game...I read in the Cubune that not only did Jermaine volunteer but also Cliff Politte to play SS...that would have been a sight to see...I just love seeing everyone wanting to chip in and do whatever it takes to try and win...

We were going to lose a series at some point.

The concerns are:

1. How the team bounces back and prevents two lost games from turning into a loosing streak. Those two losses were deflating. The team needs to get pumped for Detroit.

2. Injuries. We are banged up everywhere. This is where we are in trouble. I wonder if these injuries will be nagging us all year. Every team has injuries, but we have a ton early.

somehow cliff would have given up a double on his throw to first base. Maybe hung a slider?

Yep your right Cliff did want to play SS

Per RotoWorld.com

Jermaine Dye made his first career appearance at shortstop in the ninth inning today.

Well, he's hit like a shortstop this year. Dye and middle reliever Cliff Politte both volunteered to play shortstop after Joe Crede was ejected in the eighth. Politte probably would have been the better choice defensively, though the White Sox didn't want his bat in the lineup. Dye did commit an error in the contest, but it happened when he was playing right field. He didn't get a chance at shortstop. Apr. 27 - 6:53 pm et

That would have been even more interesting if Cliff played short, we should have put Garland in there, he can probably hit better then Jermaine right now also.
