BrandoFan
all this anger esp when the sox are winning. man i can imagine what will happen when the sox start losing Pardon my thickness...but what anger you speaketh of? All I said is that perhaps, if the SOX want to maximize thier offensive potential (which so far has been barely fine against bad teams but probably wouldn't suffice when playing Yankees and Co.) they might want to look into making Maggs a CF as a small experiment...citing numerous reasons/examples and pros and cons. But whatever. Read into it whatever you wish. I am out, later.

Soxfest
Rex last time I checked the old Steinbrenner way, produced World Series Championships , I will take that way anytime.
Rex Hudler
Rex last time I checked the old Steinbrenner way, produced World Series Championships , I will take that way anytime. Actually, the Steinbrenner way of the 80's never produced a championship. He was constantly accused of meddling to the point of screwing up his teams. Rex Hudler
Way to go to address my post, Rex. Where did you read I wanted Borchard up? I was the one who said not to expect anything special from him until at least 2005.... Rowand is terrible. Open your eyes, man, watch some of his at bats. The only time he wasn't terrible (September 2001 which made for an erroneous impression that he was an OBP machine) he was very lucky with bunt singles, infield singles, bloopers, HBP, etc. If you want Rios there, fine. Harris? Fine. Butr I still think it's worth to give Maggs a shot. Nothing in stone. I already listed reasons why in my last post. And you're right, right now Willie Harris is out-slugging Borchard. f***in relax people. b**** if the Sox start losing. If not shut up and enjoy some victories. No, you shut up I wasn't addressing strictly your post. Notice I didn't tell you to quit whining, it was a broad based comment. Maggs won't be put in CF unless it is an emergency, so you can lose that idea. Maximizing our offensive potential is much less important than maximizing our defense. There will be plenty of offense. If Frank, Paulie and CLee were hitting, you guys would be happy Rowand was playing good defense in CF. Give it a month and if Rowand is still struggling, then I'll come back and admit I am wrong as long as they give him a fair chance. Sending him to the bench right now would be the wrong move. If he should be benched, then I guess we should be sending Frank back to AAA too?

supernuke
My opinion only, but we need rowand in there for his D. A left to right outfield of Lee, Maggs and Daubach would be scary.

And with Lee's bat heating up, Daubach's opportunity to play just got much bleaker

Chisoxfn
Also, since when has Daubach earned the starting job? Its not like he's making the Sox want to play him, yet. I have nothing against Daubach and I think he'll be fine, just like I think Aaron will be, but its not like Daubs is forcing the Sox to bench Rowand. doubleM23
I think you bring up Willie.....and send down Paul...... Atleast by putting Willie in there you increase team speed ten fold. Josh would have to clear waivers to do so, and while Ken Huckaby did a few weeks ago, there's no way the Sox risk losing their pride and joy. Maggs in CF? God, why don't we just whack him in the back of the knee with a bat tomorrow and get it over with sooner? And Aaron Rowand is NOT a starter.
