Jabroni
ESPN 1000 reported that Iguchi worked out with the rest of the players today. They seemed to think that he should be healthy enough to start at 2nd base tomorrow. Good news at last. AngelasDaddy0427
Isn't Iguchi a former SS? Is it that far out to think he could do it for one more game...? Either that or we need to bring a SS up quick, even a defensively sound minor leaguer is better then Willie.

He's just starting to get used to American baseball and American 2nd base.
Capn12
naw...don't think Gooch has enough range even when 100%. Definately not with a semi-bum knee....Jesus, someone teach that man how to do a bunny hop or something when the runner is coming into second... That's why seeing him at SS is so scary.

This is something I have no clue if it's really true but maybe in Japan the players don't go into 2nd base hard so he's not used to avoiding players down there? Punch and Judy Garland
Row, I was wondering the same thing myself. It's sort of a shady thing even though it's very accepted. Maybe they just don't do that. I have no problem with seeing Willie at SS for a few games if the alternative is Jermaine Dye

Either way, somebody BETTER suggest he learn a hop or something, else those knees are gonna be shot before this season is over. As for Willie, quite honestly it isnt his range or glove that worry me about him filling in at SS for now...its his freaking arm that scares me. Uribe has got a straight gun at SS, and because of that alone we have kept a few more runners off base than we would have if someone wilth a weaker arm was there. Punch and Judy Garland
I have to be honest, watching Eckstein play everyday now-his arm is better than advertised. It's not great or anything but his defense is much better than has been suggested. I always hated him for some reason but he's a better player in every phase of the game than I'd given him credit for.

It's been posted 200 times. And yet we keep seeing, "Iguchi was a SS, why can't he slide over?". Sorry if I am overreacting and the poster who stated that is a good poster. It gets a little frustrating at times to get the same question over and over when the answer has been repeatedly posted. Sorry again, rant over.
