I said exactly what should be done.....release Timo!  We have absolutely no need for him on the team.  If we end up needing a RF to take over for Dye, then call up Anderson or Borchard.  There are some middle infielders that can be claimed, including guys like R. Gutierrez.  No one is particularly good, but much better than making Crede or Harris play SS.

As much as we want it, Timo isn't going anywhere. Especially since we have no OFers ready to replace him after Uribe and Ozuna get healthy. Would you be bringing up Borchard or maybe Jeremy Giambi to replace Timo after that middle infielder got sent out? That move doesn't make any sense in the context of the season.

That's not what someone in this very thread just reported was said on the radio.  They said Uribe was DL bound if he wasn't feeling better tomorrow.  Trust me, I hope I'm wrong.  Uribe's our most dangerous hitter.

The Sox are the complete opposite of the Cubs when it comes to injury reports. We overexagerate, not under. The Sox are a cautious organization.

Respectfully disagree. Magglio was day to day last year Danny Wright had nothing wrong with him, turns out he had shoulder and elbow problems Frank was supposed to miss 2 or 3 games initially. Even after Frank's fracture was found KW mentioned returning the beginning of September.. Looks like he'll be at least 9 or 10 months off. Starting last season, the injuries have been a lot more severe than the Sox have been letting on for the most part.

Why would anybody think Harris could play SS when he can't play second?

They'd better find another utility infielder because if Crede or Iguchi goes down, we are truly hosed. You have to have somebody who can play SS. It's only the most important defensive position on the field.

Hell, place a call to Craig Wilson or Jason Dellaero or Mike Caruso.

Our lack of depth is beginning to show.

I think he plays second better than Iguchi, but doesn't turn the double play as well as Iguchi does.

As far as him playing shortstop, his range may be good enough but I don't know about his arm.

I would've felt a lot better putting Crede there again quite honestly.
