KipWellsFan
http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/200...y-us050429.html Italy's foreign minister, Gianfranco Fini, said there was no way the Italians could have approved of the American version of events. "The Italian government could not have been asked to sign off on reconstruction of the facts that as far as we know does not correspond to what happened that night," he told reporters. Fini said a final report will be released in a few days which will make it clear "why the Italian government could not sign off a reconstruction of events that in our opinion does not capture 100 per cent what happened." EvilMonkey
Just another case of he said/she said. Whichever side is wrong, do you really expect them to admit it? LIke the article said, get over it and move on.
YASNY
It's amazing when you can identify the thread starter by the thread subject.
southsider2k5
Did you expect the Italians to say, yeah, it was our bad, speeding through an American roadblock was pretty stupid, wasn't it? That'll be the day.

That'll be the day. Well considering they at least had a conservative government (not sure what happened, but they just had some sort of reformation of government) you'd think they wouldn't be too worried about debating what a communist was saying. southsider2k5
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Well considering they at least had a conservative government (not sure what happened, but they just had some sort of reformation of government) you'd think they wouldn't be too worried about debating what a communist was saying. I think their people are a little more important than that. Plus Burlesconi (sp) has been getting killed in the public opinion polls, and this was a big deal there. His government would have crumbled if he would have said it was their own fault. He HAS to say it was America's fault, or he is out of a job.
