So in reality, Willie and Scotty have been awesome in doing their jobs of getting on base. Tadahito has taken over the 2004 job of Willie for getting 3 hits in one game, and then going 0 fer the next two games. Also it is impressive to see Crede so high on that list, for a guy who never walks.

I'd say that's kind of expected for Iguchi just cause of the learning experience, I think as the year goes on he'll have less and less of those. Willie and Scott have both been very good so far, Willie's filled in very nicely when he's had to and Scott keeps getting on base even if he's not hitting he's been taking a lot of walks. Kudos to both of them so far.

Gooch has the excuse of being new to the league though. He makes the best adjustments of any player I've ever seen.

He's exceeded my expectations so far.

Ya, I just love his swing. One pitch he'll look way off and then next pitch he's made the adjustment and he hits it hard. He's been a very pleasant surprise.

Dye is horrible....he needs to get out of this big-ass slump, NOW!

Dye has always been streaky. This chart shows his BA last year with Oakland, the dark blue is his cummulative season, the purple is week by week starting on Sundays. He's like the little girl with curl, when he's good he's very good and when he's bad he's terrible.

This was talked about when they signed him, I think it was SS2K5? Dye may indeed end up with very good numbers but he is not the day in day out offensive force that Mags was.

You can pound on him for missing the cut off man, and dropping that ball in Oakland, but you get what you get with him at the plate. The way to get him out of his slump is to get him over the flu and play him everyday.

These are the kinds of posts that I like. Thanks for the chart, as long a he is consistent, I'll be happy....as long as he is NOT consistently BAD.

Nice work TLAK. Like I've said many times already this year. Dye being in the lineup everyday is quite alright with me, I want him in RF. I DO NOT want him batting 5th in the order, that is Ozzies fault. Thats the adjustment I want.

You won't be happy then

As the chart very well shows, Dye appears to be one of the streakiest players in the league.

Well yeah but his average is consistent.
