First off, I just wanted to say that if a White Sox gets popped off, some fans in here are going to look like big assholes. Secondly, Tim Kurkjan said that his K/9 wasn't even 1 prior to last year. Last year it jumped hugely he said(forgot the number). Anyway, I hope everyone on the White Sox is clean.

This whole 10 games is a joke. Congress is going to step in, just wait until the start of next season.

Steroids will help with pitchers. Most of the power from pitching comes from the lower extremities. The speed of the ball is developed from the power and velocity of the lower extremities through the trunk to the arm.

Remember steroids can help with speed as well as force. This is why sprinters in track and field are one of the demographics most frequently caught.

As I said in another thread players using HGH will never get caught until they begin using blood tests. The wealthy and better players who can afford them will continue to take them.

add cyclists to the track guys and you can clearly see that the stereotype of the muscle-bound juicer is a small fragment of the using population. Does anybody blood test? I haven't heard of businesses doing that too much

The the IOC uses it for the olmpics and track and field will use it for big international meets like pan am games. Cycling and distance running will also use it for big events but this is more to catch blood dopers like Lance Armstrong was accussed of doing a couple of years ago. Other than that no organized sports uses it that I know of. Does anyone else know of any?

Something new was in your CBS article. Mike Sciocias [sp?] comments were right on. That in 10 days, Rincon would still be getting the benefits of the drugs, and the penalty should be harsher.

The answer to that dilemma is so obvious, there is no viable excuse why it hasn't been implemented. Ten day minimum suspension and clean drug test before reinstatement.

The players giving a clean test before they come back should be a no brainer. But wouldn't they still have the drugs in their system after only 10 days? That's why players should be gone for more than 10 games. I could see a compromise with Selig's 50 game suspension to something like 25 or 30 games for 1st positives

I'd guess that they would still have the drug in their system. So, they fail, get tested in 5 more days and hope. If they fail again, 5 more days. So on and so forth. Hell, they put the stuff there. Not letting them play until it's not there anymore is only common sense.

Makes sense to me.

Very true.

I think it would be very niave to believe that NO White Sox player was/is juiced.

No doubt about it. Maybe the guys who have been here are OK, but you never even know about them. It is almost a statisitical certainty that someone on our 25 man roster now has at been on something illegal.
