kapkomet
What an incredible story And this does prove that with continuing therapy, etc. a person CAN recover. It might be rare, but it can happen.
Steff
I don't recall anyone saying that a person could NOT recover... I wonder the extent of his damage. In any event.. good for him and good for his family.
Soxy
QUOTE(Steff @ May 3, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) I wonder the extent of his damage. Well, I can tell you for one thing, I bet his brain wasn't liquified to the point of having ventricles be the size of at least half the brain. Oh, it's an apples and oranges comparison, no doubt about it. But there were a lot of people out there saying that no one recovers from injuries like these. Terri and this guy are completely different. Nonetheless, it's a great story.

I know people recover, but a coma is waaaaay different than Schiavo's situation, as you mentioned. And I just wanted to point that out before someone goes on about how Terri might have woken up. And warm thoughts to this guy! He's got an uphill battle, but I hope he makes it--I can't even imagine how atrophied his muscles are. I wish him all the luck in the world.
