Gawd, this is our 4th f***in reliever used this game. Shingo will probably come in next inning, meaning we've used everyone but Luis this game, you'd think ozzie would have learned from that Cleveland game. This is completely unneccesary to take Damaso out here, completely unnceccesary.

Good call by Ozzie here.  Marrero is great against lefties.

yeah but this could shape up to be exactly like it was in cle, hermanson now, shingo for the ninth, leaving only viz

Look up Marrero's numbers against lhp last year and this year......it's the right move.

I agree. Ozzie tends to overmange in my opinion.

Anyone else feel that Ozzie is handling the bulppen today like he did in the 3rd game of the season.  I just sense that it could be exactly like that.

I feel the exact same way.....I can just see some one hitting a 2 run HR now and we would be screwed....you better be correct here Ozzie :banghead

I've alluded to it twice, but no one paid attention, :P

...so, I'll just come out and say it.

I think it's time to send Neal down to Charlotte to work on getting streched out and some work on another pitch, bringing Walker up the big-leauge level.

Which is one reason why I think the save stat is tremendously overrated.

The only I can figure is as a pitcher records more saves (even if he isn't a closer) he'll command more money because of that stupid stat.

Yep, which is unfortunate. I like what Ozzie's doing. I see Hermanson coming into the game now. f*** the 'closer' role, use Hermy when you need to get a string of tough righties out, and use Marte/Vizcaino when you need to get out some tough lefties. We have four guys that I'm semi-comfortable with getting the last three outs in the game; which, in most cases, are less pressuring than the two prior innings.

Donn with an interesting and smart point.  He says that a lot of times, the tougher outs are in the seventh and eighth innings, not the ninth.  So, why not use your better relievers in those innings?

as a former middle reliever himself, somehow i'd expect pall to feel this way. i happen to agree with him though.

Don't care what his numbers are against lefties, Damaso isn't your typical left hander, he's been getting that back door slider over much more as of late and when he is he's just as tough on righties as lefties.

Cmon, 1 more Hermey.

It is a waste of money to call him up.

Maybe I'm biased, but I like what Donn adds to the broadcast. Moreso than DJ, at least, but that's not saying much.

I dunno, it just seems like Donn actually brings something to the table, not just "UH-OH" and "BYE-BYE".
