WHarris1
Yeah this could be a long night. 3-1 Is there a reason he didn't throw home??? :headshake
fathom
f***ing Timo! What the hell is he doing? Ozzie should bench his ass for those two stupid plays.
Guest JimH
Timo made the right play, sorry for all the haters. He was running away from making a good throw home, that's not a bad play at all to try and throw to 2nd base. It just didn't work out.
WHarris1
How about for the 1st time the bats pick up the pitching? Maybe? Just this once?
Guest JimH
Ok, they are finally out of this inning. Down 3-1. As stated, the bats need to wake up. Paging Paul Konerko.

fathom
QUOTE(JimH @ May 6, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) Timo made the right play, sorry for all the haters. He was running away from making a good throw home, that's not a bad play at all to try and throw to 2nd base. It just didn't work out. I respectfully disagree. His decision to throw to 2nd base allowed Zaun to walk home. Zaun would have had no chance to score if Timo threw that ball home (like he's supposed to do ). All I know is if Carlos Lee did that, people would freak out. That was a very shallow liner that he caught.
Milkman delivers
43 pitches through 2 innings. That's just not going to cut it. There's still hope that Duque can settle down, but even if he doesn't, every starter has a bad outing once in a while. Maybe he's just due. Very tough to stop, plant, set up, and then throw across the body. He thought he had a better chance to double the guy off 2nd, it was a fairly close play. If it's Rowand out there (right handed thrower) I agree with you.

fathom
Crede is so good when he takes a nice level swing. Unfortunately, one can now argue that Timo has cost us 2 runs (one on offense, one on defense).

Remember what happens when everyone starts swinging for the fences? I'd rather just a few more solid doubles and some singles.

Guest JimH
Horrible baserunning Uribe. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn straight. Just as bad as what Timo did guys, let's see the hate, be consistent. Uribe assumed it would be in right field, do not assume Juan. Bad play, he likely would have beaten it out otherwise.
fathom
Uribe thought he had a hit, so he started rounding the base. Hudson made a good play, and got him out at 1b when Uribe slid feet first. Uribe would have easily beat it if he just ran through the base.
