Actually, the 2001 throwbacks were tribute to the 1917 jerseys the Sox wore in their World Series win over the Giants, since World War I was going on at the time in '17 and not in '19. I remember that. That was the best Sox game I was ever at..... the one where C Lee blasted the grand slam to beat the sCrUBS in the 10th inning.
