Guest JimH
Where was he most recently, Japan?
Chisoxfn
I remember him going to Japan, but I think he was back in the minors last year. IIRC I saw him when he was down in Charlotte last year (playing for another team). I know one thing, he could always rake the ball down in the minors. Guest JimH
Thanks. Did not realize he was only 29, seems like he's been around forever. He's a fringe guy but I recall him getting a few big pinch hits.
Rex Hudler
Rosie is a solid minor leaguer..... might even be comparable to the Ross Gload pickup a couple of years ago. My guess is he goes to AAA and either Bikowski or more likely Spidale gets sent down. That may depend on if he has been playing this year in Japan or sitting for the first month of the season. If he has been sitting, he may start in AA.

Rex Hudler
Do you know what move they made to make room for him? Geez, I can't keep up with minor league transactions.......
bmags
i remember when he hit that grand slam for the cubs
Heads22
No. Charlotte's all f***ed up. Their media guy is great about keeping me updated though. Maybe with the Burke move, but that may just have been room for Leon.

He was with the marlins in the minors when I was there. Not only a guy who can hit but a good guy overall.

Not only a guy who can hit but a good guy overall. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can he hit my Weiss beer compadre? I know he's had a few pinch hits but his stats aren't overwhelming at the minor league level. Just curious. The only time I've seen him play was at the major league level, with the Cubs. And then, only sporadically. I wonder why they signed him. Maybe they feel they need a veteran presence, or is this a precursor to another move (unrelated to injury)?

If you have noticed, Charlotte has been a revolving door of players the past few years. The Sox make more in season acquisitions there than all of their other minor league teams combined. At least it seems that way.......

The Sox make more in season acquisitions there than all of their other minor league teams combined. At least it seems that way....... It also seems to be a cursed ballpark. They seem to have more injuries then most of the teams and a lot of the top prospects tend to show up and flounder there, even the hitters and its an extreme hitters park. He does have a pretty good stick. It's probably 4th or 5th outfielder quality. His defense is a thing that will keep him as a part time player.
