The Critic
I thought they were doing that lame-ass "left field sucks - right field sucks" chant they do out there. "Dusty Sucks" is MUCH funnier, because it's true. May he NEVER be fired.....

Yoda
Dusty Baker should not be the only one getting the fault for all of this. One cannot forget the general manager: Jim Hendry.
knightni
I wonder how soon the fair-weather "Chicago fans" will start changing bandwagons. :rolly
The Critic
QUOTE(Yoda @ May 7, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) Dusty Baker should not be the only one getting the fault for all of this. One cannot forget the general manager: Jim Hendry. Truth. He put all his "closer eggs" in the fluke basket of Joe Borowski, and did NOTHING to address the bullpen this offseason. Still, that team should be better than they are, but they have NO fear of failing. Dusty the Substitute Teacher holds no one accountable for anything. At this point, I doubt a new manager could turn the ship around this year. Those players have become accustomed to doing anything they want without retribution, and they'd resist any attempt to return them to professionalism. Again, I repeat: Dusty is a horrible manager, may he NEVER be fired....
Guest JimH
In Zambrano's complete game today, he threw 135 pitches. Wow. I suppose Baker felt he didn't have any other choice, but that is one heck of a lot of pitches. It'll be interesting to see if there are any adverse effects to Zambrano later on. The Critic
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Glad to see Dusty learned his lessons with Prior and Wood. Here comes major arm injury to stud pitcher #3. Dusty The Pitcher Killer WILL strike again!!!! Sure, Big Dust HAD to keep Zambrainless out there, since his bullpen full of arsonists can't hold a lead, but it's not a good idea to overuse the only young arm you have that hasn't needed work yet. I read somewhere that Jon Leicester might get the start today, since Ryan Dumpster is the "Closer Du Jour" and they want to keep Rusch in the bullpen too ( I guess to get the last out after Dumpster implodes as a closer....HA! ). I don't care too much about the Cubs either way, I don't really hate them, it's just SO NICE to keep the trolls at my workplace niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice and quiet..........I just walk past the worst one every day and nod, nothing needs to be said.......
