W-Kozowski L-Lubisich

Lubisich was on his game today outstanding breaking ball. Only made on bad pitch today a hanging curve to Keith Nichols. Andy Gonzalez had a couple of 2 out RBI Hits. Young Owens hit streaks continue. B.J. LaMura is becoming a great middle reliever if he contiunues to trust his stuff he has a chance LaMura already went face to face with Dodgers and D-Rays #1 Prospects, Joel Guzman and Delmon young 2 times and they are 0-4 with 4 strike outs B.J. this season has a good curve with a 93-95 Fastball. After The game Heath Phillips was sent to Birmingham and Antoin Gray was placed on the Suspended list why I won't know until tomorrow.

Does that mean Honel out of the rotation?

Yes, Currently he is on the DL for what I don't know and have no idea how long to me this sounds like last season when it was one start and before you knew it was all season and couldn't even pitch well in Bristol

The pitcher who's really starting to intrigue me is BJ LaMura. He's had some eye popping stats at Birmingham thus far.

Yeah, but it's a pitchers' park and numerous guys have not been able to make it in AAA going into a hitters' park. Smith, Phillips, and Villacis all have had troubles in AAA after good seasons in AA. I'm keeping a cautious eye, but I've been impressed with his work in AA since he got promoted.

He's got a good arm, always has. He's really made some strides from his college days too.

In Villacis case, he's just not good. In Smith's case I'm kind of puzzled because I think he's a good that at the very least will be a AAAA type of player who just won't be able to ever stick in the majors while Phillips probably could of used some more time in Bham, imo.

As far as Lamura goes, he has the stuff, imo but still has more to learn. It will be intersting because he's long had to work on repeating his delivery and getting a more consistent curve. Sounds like he's been doing that thus far this year because he has a good fastball and when that curve is on its quite good as well.

LaMura was out of Clemson if I recall. I remember one of the Sox brass commenting when he was drafted that they felt he had a chance as a solid bullpen guy. He started and relieved in college I'm pretty sure.

He was a mid round pick, within the top 10 rounds, so they saw something they liked.

B.J. LaMura info

Clemson, full time reliever in college until his last year when he did both, 5th round pick.

Ya, I was thinking either Clemson or Texas A&M and I think Pollock was the one from A&M. I remember he didn't have world beater numbers from Clemson but that he supposedly had a good arm. I also think your right on him being both a reliever/starter. In fact I think he was a closer part of the time there because IIRC somewhere there was talk of both him and Botch being in the Sox system together (Botch closed for Clemson I think).
