Heads22
Baj deserved this, but I guess since the bastard throws with his right hand, he doesn't. Burke's down because Harris is probably off the bereavement list.

witesoxfan
I do not like this move, at all. He gets like $1 mill guaranteed now, compared to the very little he was going to get otherwise. Why make the move? I am trying to figure this out.

Walker gets $425,000 to come to the big league roster. http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/p...guenum=&id=6453 Nov. 24, 2004 - 6:18 pm et Only $100,000 of the $525,000 contract Kevin Walker signed with the White Sox today is guaranteed. This makes more sense. Walker will get the rest of the money if he makes the team out of spring training. He can also earn $50,000 in bonuses, $25,000 each for making 65 and 70 appearances. Way to spend that money, Kenny! (And I'm not bashing you, either) It's a stupid move. Baj should've gone before him, if not Baj, then what about Josh Fields? Walker sucks. CWSGuy406
And I echo Tony's sentiments. Some of you are b****ing that guys like Marte and Shingo and Cotts are giving you heart-aches? Walker couldn't even get AAA hitters out, and we reward him with a half a million bucks. Sheesh.
santo=dorf
I hope Walker strikes out 27 guys in a row just so everyone STFU. I'm guessing Ozzie feels more comfortable with 3 lefties in the pen.

I just hope Walker pitches like he did in the beginning of Spring Training and not how he did toward the end of ST and at Charlotte. CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Bajenaru wasn't exactly stellar last season. We do need another lefty in a bullpen, not a righty. I just hope Walker pitches like he did in the beginning of Spring Training and not how he did toward the end of ST and at Charlotte. Why do we need another lefty? Cotts? Marte? Vizcaino (yes, he's not lefty, but I thought Kenny/Ozzie were confident in his ability to get out lefties)? So what he didn't do good in the show last year. Eight f***ing innings... you wanna judge a guy off of eight f'n innings... What more does Baj have to do at Charlotte? He's dominated. It's time to get him up here, and see what he can do. There's absolutely no point in leaving him there... See if he's got what it takes to pitch at this level.
Heads22
If Walker can't get out AAA hitters what makes you think he can get out major league hitters? Do you want a AAA left with an ERA of 6.00 or a AAA righty with an ERA of 0.71?

And, he's only been called up once, so it can't be that, can it? Gosh, what a waste of 400K... Dumb dumb dumb move. Dumb.

My point was that Cotts is not a lefty specialist. By the way, does anyone think that the Blue Jays may claim Jamie Burke off of waivers now due to Gregg Zaun's injury? Either that or they could re-sign Greg Myers out of retirement. Edited May 8, 2005 by Jabroni
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 8, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) And Walker was???? Baj has a 0.77 ERA right now, Walker with a 6.00 How are you going to feel when Walker takes the bump in any game? On a 24-7 team, I wont be to happy. The only reason Walker is up is because he pitched well in spring and Ozzie got to see him pitch well first hand. Baj or Fields would of been the better call if they wanted an extra reliever and with Marte/Cotts in teh pen its not like the Sox need a 3rd lefty. Baj pitched well in spring but rarely got any action in games Ozzie was managing. And he wasn't bad last year, he had some awful luck and the numbers were awful.
