YASNY
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 13, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Knowing Joe Torre, if he's any part of the All - Star Game, he's probably going with the idea in mind to recruit Garland ALA Esteban Loaiza 2004. It won't be Torre. The Red Sox were the AL Champs last year. Francona will have the honors.
DBAHO
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 13, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) It won't be Torre. The Red Sox were the AL Champs last year. Francona will have the honors. Yeah can't he select a bench coach though (although it definitely wouldn't be Torre).
Punch and Judy Garland
I think he'd consider Torre. I bet he picks Ozzie and either Scocia (sp?) or Gardy though
YASNY
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 13, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) Yeah can't he select a bench coach though (although it definitely wouldn't be Torre). He CAN select Torre. But, hell, FRancona is the RED Sox manager and Torre's a Yankee. Why the hell would he want to do something like that?
YASNY
Here's a little tidbit of information that I don't recall seeing mentioned anywhere in PHT .... With the Twins idle yesterday, the Sox lead has increased to 5 full games!!!

With the Twins idle yesterday, the Sox lead has increased to 5 full games!!! And that is the best result of all. Every chance we can get we need to bury the Twins as early as possible. NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 13, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) Great performance by Jon Garland. He stepped up like an ace against a very good and very dangerous Oriole line up. That 3-2 change to Tejada in the 8th was the BIG pitch of the game. Garland was a star with the glove as well as his arm. He made 2 very good plays on the mound tonight, though an assist goes to AJ for yelling for the ball on that play at the plate. All in all, a very good ballgame to watch. I love how AJ just shoved that dude with the tag and knocked him down. That was priceless!!!
