GoodAsGould
Yeah having 3 guys in the booth is awesome... especially a fan favorite like Ventura. I hope they do it many times during the year because it was nice listening to all of them together. On to the game, Cy Garland!!! that K to Tejada was truly amazing...also im really liking this Podsenick, Iguchi, Rowand top of the order... mebe when Carl comes back he could slide into the 4th spot and Konerko 5th until he figures out things. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(fathom @ May 12, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) Even though Garland has two complete game shut-outs this season, tonight was the best game he pitched. Against some very good hitters, he made great pitches. Ironic that the most trouble he had was against an A ball player. I agree. That strikeout on Tejada in the 8th was CLUTCH. Jon has FINALLY arrived. I'm still dissapointed with the offense. We have to give our pitchers a little more margin for error than what we have been. I have no idea how we're winning these games with our 4-6 hitters hitting .240, .197, and .195.
Guest JimH
Robin said somethin like no ones happier to be back than me, so maybe he is stayin. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, what he said was to Hawk. It was at the end of the broadcast and DJ told Hawk how glad he was that Hawk was back, and Ventura said "no one is more happy than me that you're back". I think we either rock cabrera and his potential 100 mile an hour fast ball or we get shut down. No in between in my opinion.

CWSGuy406
Just got back from the game. I'm going back, thinking about Jon Garland pitching on short rest at Boston. I'm reaching for some other starts, but I can't find any. Jon was brilliant tonight -- brilliant. I've never been so happy for him... When he struck out Tejada on that filthy sinker/offspeed pitch down and it, I screamed. Jon was un-f***ing-believable tonight. Congrats, Jon. CWSGuy406
BTW -- 29 and change for tonight's game, on not the greatest of nights. Nice job, Sox fans. You guys/we were into every pitch, I probably had a better time tonight than at Opening Day.

This would be easier if one of the 2 ( Dead and Kong ) wasn;t slumping but both of em suck balls at this point. I really dont know what to do at this point. Chisoxrd5
GREATTTT GAME TONIGHT!!!! No rain, weather was nice and the crowd was into it!! Garland looked great out there all game, but that strikeout of Tejada in the 8th was something that I have NEVER seen him accomplish in his entire career. Normally that exact situation is where he throws ball 4 in a location where it impossible to offer at the pitch or he leaves something offspeed right over the middle of the plate and gives up a hit. Tonight Garland pitched great, fielded his position superbly and looked like the 7-0 pitcher that he is from start to finish!!
