Jabroni
5 more wins than any other team in baseball, having led in 36 games straight, and most important, a 6 game lead on the Twinkies who have owned the division the past 3 years is insane. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed. The consecutive lead streak will come to an end sooner or later but they have already blown the 1955 Dodgers' 25-game record away. Jabroni
Does anyone think we could have one of the best 1-2 punches in all of baseball with Podsednik and Iguchi? Podsednik: .380 OBP Iguchi: .364 OBP It's like we have our own version of Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo. I think its pretty damn close, while Pods is raising havoc on the basebaths, Gooch is reaping the benefits. The only reason why their not getting much attention right now is because everyone thinks its a fluke. As long as they keep it up we are set. About the 4th inning people started yelling, Sosa isnt here stupid cub fans. God are they a dumb group of people. After that game and the way they played it and won it. It fills me with SOX PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/size]. EAT s*** CUB FANS, EAT s*** REST OF BASEBALL. THE GOOD GUYS ARE HERE TO TAKE NAMES AND KICK ASS. AirScott
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) One had a sosa cubs jersey and he had it crossed out with Duck Tape. About the 4th inning people started yelling, Sosa isnt here stupid cub fans. God are they a dumb group of people. do Cubs fans realize that Sammy Sosa brought baseball back from near obscurity after the strike with the 1998 home run chase? or 4 straight 50+ HR seasons (3 60+)? or hit 545 homeruns in a Cubs uniform? it seems Cubs fans and Yankee fans really don't know much about their ball clubs. anyhoo, what's really encouraging about this Sox team, and I've said this many a times this season, is that we've been beating the Orioles and Twins the same way we've been beating the Devil Rays and Royals. Jabroni
How about Ray Durham and Jose Valentin of 2000, minus May and September? Ray Durham Jose Valentin <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but 2000 was pretty much Valenstache's career year. Though, he did have a really good 2001 season as well. Iguchi is just a much better #2 hitter than Valenstache. He can draw a walk, bunt, and his hits seem to find the holes. Valenstache was a bad #2 hitter because he couldn't lay down a bunt to save his life. Durham and Valenstache had a lot more homerun power though. YASNY
Gotta love that 6 game lead. People have been expecting us to falter when we start playing these better teams. So far, it's Twins stumbling.
