South Side Fireworks Man
Frank says he will not take any fielding at all during his minor league rehab and will not do any fielding at all any time this year. Sounds like he's in a lot more pain than he has been letting on if that's the case. Anyway, it will be great to have his bat in the lineup at DH, but that means we need Gload back to back up at 1B, and we need guys that can play multiple positions on the bench, as we are going to be one fielder short. Since Harris and Ozuna can both play outfield as well as infield, and Carl is an outfielder, it looks like Timo will be the one to go, barring injuries of course. Anyway, get back soon, Big Hurt! maggsmaggs
Timo should go IMO, too. Ozuna is a better hitter, more versitile and a much faster. Willie too is valuable and should stay. But they might move Kevin Walker down to make room for Frank pending on how they feel their need of pitchers.
GoodAsGould
I wonder if Frank would play 1B if we made it to the world series? David Ortiz did and that was a big plus for them so if we do get that far i hope he does.

Brian
I'm looking forward to the Chicago Tribune's "Frank Watch" during his assignment. Not sure if this should be in green or not.
LosMediasBlancas
Great news, get him up here, shoot up his foot and get his ass in the line up before Death and Palsy sink us.

MODS ( snaps finger ) Make it happen. Seriously though I can't wait for him to come back. If he gets back into his old form or anything close to it then our offense is gonna explode. When was the last time that Frank had guys like Pods and Gooch hitting in front of him?
South Side Fireworks Man
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 15, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Timo should go IMO, too. .... I'm sure Walker will be going back down, but Ross Gload will probably (hopefully) be back by the time Frank comes back. So Perez will probably also have to go. We'll see... Jabroni
On ESPN 1000, Bruce LeVineLine said that Frank agrees with Kenny that he needs 40 to 70 at bats. LeVineLine also said that if Frank says he's ready after 40 AB's which would take around 10 days, he will be back with the White Sox. If he needs more AB's, they will give him another 10 days with Charlotte.
Jabroni
I actually think we should pin a "Frank Watch" thread in the Pale Hose Talk. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed, a "Frank Watch" in this forum would be a great idea. Frank is playing Tuesday night... "Thomas to begin rehab assignment DH set to play Tuesday night for Triple-A Charlotte" http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws But starting on Tuesday night in Ottawa, Charlotte will get the biggest shot in the arm it has received all season -- although it's the White Sox who will benefit the most in the long run. Frank Thomas will begin his Minor League rehabilitation assignment against the Lynx, Baltimore's Triple-A affiliate, as the franchise career home run leader takes off on what could be the last leg of his journey for a return to the Major Leagues. Paulie needs Frank more than anyone right now.

It just isn't worth it. Konerko does not have the range to play 3rd base anymore. And Crede at shortstop, the outfield, and 2nd base? Are you trying to make us the worst defensive team in baseball? Wow, those are some of the worst and most ridiculous ideas that I have ever heard. Edited May 15, 2005 by Jabroni

The Beast
I will only want Frank back if he can prove he can still run on the base paths. I thought we were all about speed. Yes, other teams have slower players in the lineup, however, with his ankle, can he really perform? If we ever see Thomas playing 1st, then we know its bad. Even though it is proven he bats better when he plays in the field.
