NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 15, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) "Bad, bad times for some" http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=2061052 I certainly didn't expect them to light the world on fire this season cause they lost Clement, Soso and Moistest but thanks to Dusty's mismanagement of his pitching staff getting them all hurt the situation is far worse. UofIChiSox
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 16, 2005 -> 05:17 AM) I certainly didn't expect them to light the world on fire this season I didn't either, I was so confused all offseason how Cubs fans and media people thought that even after losing Sosa, Alou, and Clement the Cubs were the best team around. I mean, Gammons picked them to go to the world series, right? It's easy to say now, but I didn't ever really think they would be able to replace Sosa's and Alou's bats in the middle of their lineup or Clement's quality innings. Oh well, I don't mind watching the Cubs suffer!!

Oh well, I don't mind watching the Cubs suffer!! Its not confusing to me that Flubbs fans thought they were going all the way. They are delusional people who don't pay any attention to facts they just spout off "We're the greatest!!!". That's fine with me though cause their despair at their current situation is really funny to watch.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ May 16, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) I didn't either, I was so confused all offseason how Cubs fans and media people thought that even after losing Sosa, Alou, and Clement the Cubs were the best team around. I mean, Gammons picked them to go to the world series, right? It's easy to say now, but I didn't ever really think they would be able to replace Sosa's and Alou's bats in the middle of their lineup or Clement's quality innings. Oh well, I don't mind watching the Cubs suffer!! I can see why, they still had a hell of a starting rotation (when healthy). Biggest mistake the Cubs made was not addressing the hole that clocked them the past year (ie the bullpen). There offense was plenty good anyway so I didn't think the loss of Sosa/Alou would have much of an effect. Of course St. Louis is vastly superior anyway and I think Florida/Atlanta are going to be the division winner/wild card teams.
jackie hayes
Good to see Lamont mentioned for a manager spot. I had no clue what had happened to him.
