The article was just from the writer's point of view and what he thinks is gonna happen. Apparently he doesn't know what he bulls have to spend this off-season. Plain and simple if we sign marshall we won't have enough money for either harrington or duhon.

Apparently he doesn't know what he bulls have to spend this off-season. Plain and simple if we sign marshall we won't have enough money for either harrington or duhon. We would be fine with Kirk taking his low FG% and high assists back to his natural position, PG, and Ben starting before the All-Star break. I would imagine we could get Donyell, some sort of inexpensive guard, and say bye-bye to duhon, reiner, and griffin? That's my take, although I'll be the first to admit I pay very little attention to the salary cap and contract situations...

I don't feel like arguing about it tonight but there are plenty of reasons for gordon to not be starting. He likes coming off the bench over starting at this point anyway ( he said it not me). He knows he has alot of things to work and plans on addressing them. But it would be foolish for us to think he will get that much better over one summer. Duhon will come back because of how good of a pass first point guard he is and his defensive prowess. I don't think i am going out on a limb saying he is our smartest player on the team am i? If we get lucky we will get him to except the lle. Reiner and lysol are probally both be gone even though i wouldn't mind lysol to stick around. Lysol>>> reiner at his best. Griffin will sign for chump change and is highly respected on the bulls, he is a captain afterall. He will sign for the veteran's minimum most likely. He is still a good role player and very good defender but can only play limited minutes due to his knees. Pargo should and will be resigned for practically nothing. What we need to do this off-season is sign two players that will take up the mle and as i said earlier in the thread bell and ruffin would do so. That might not sound great for short term success ( next year) but for the year after when we can sign a big name player and still have money left over it will be huge for our road to a championship. I would also expect us to resign nocioni after next year considering he likes it here, but we are gonna have to wait and see how he performs next year. If you read my post, you'll notice I said I expect him to improve enough to start sometime before, and near, the All-Star Break. 2. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE NBA WANTS TO START AND PLAY SIGNIFICANT MINTUTES. He made those statements because he was being a team player. I don't think we used that high of a draft pick for a 6th man, and I think that a goal of his, along with almost every other NBA player, especially with his potential, is to start. Sure and i still don't think he will make vast enough improvements to start by then. I expect him to improve slightly this year. But to improve enough other than scoring? I don't think so but i hope you right. He is, in my opinion garbage outside of shooting. I know few will probally agree but that's how it is. Curry is a better overall player than gordon by far. The actual reason he doesn't have much of a problem with starting is because at this stage his stamina is awful. Eddy curry has better stamina and that is no joke. 25 minutes and gordon is done for. If he wants to be a starter he will have to play around 32 and i don't think it will get that much better over one summer. That is a pretty drastic amount for anyone

rangercal
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) It would be a killer defensive squad (perhaps Top 5 in the NBA with San Antonio, Detroit, Indiana, and Memphis), not to mention one of the top rebounding teams. We'd have the most defensive depth in the entire league (Duhon, Hinrich, Bell, Nocioni, Ruffin, Chandler, Dalembert, etc). Scoring: 15-17 PPG Potential: Hinrich Gordon Deng 12-14 PPG Potential: Nocioni Dalembert 9-11 PPG Potential: Bell Chandler Harrington 6-8 PPG Potential: Duhon Ruffin Davis Sure, I'd like to have that 22-25 PPG threat. But I don't want to be the New York Knicks, you know? I want a defensive squad that can just wear people out. I want wins by submission, not some bulls*** shoot-outs. That s*** ain't basketball. We keep Curry, and we have a 18-20 PPG threat in the paint. But again, I don't want to be the New York Knicks. I don't want heartless, overpaid goofballs. I want a team of guys who will do absolutely anything that it takes to win. Most teams only have a couple of those guys nowadays...I want like 8 or 9 of them. Now there's a team that I can get behind. If we expect 9-11 ppg out of raja Bell = home for the playoffs next year. I guess your willing to give Tyson the Max? :headshake That's what he probably will ask for. Tyson sure looked great against ruffin, Thomas, and kwame Brown. He looked ok with his defense on the sixers and he's been putting up points on a weak, injury-depleted jazz team...His .61 steals numbers don't really jump out at me... There's no way that Tyson should get max money, because scoring is what puts asses in the seats. But if we expect to contend with Detroit, Indiana, and San Antonio over the next 3 to 4 years, we need some devastating defense in the paint. It can't work without Tyson. Imagine how crazy this guy will be in two to three years from now. In the long term, despite his lack of bulk, I envision him as a ranger in the middle ala Ben Wallace. Our Grant Fuhr, if you will. 9-11 PPG ain't asking too much from Raja if he's getting 20 to 25 minutes.

Don't even pay any attention to his steals/blocks numbers. He's a Top 10 perimiter defender in this league who you can get for relatively cheap. If you don't belive me, get the NBA package next year and check him out. Honestly, how many times have you seen him play in the past couple of years? He was easily the best defender on the Mavericks, but he didn't get very many minutes because they play shoot-out style basketball over there.
