Wise Master Buehrle
4 numbers keep flashing in my head after almost every at bat... 2003. He's off to his worst start ever, batting average wise. Yes, worse than in 2003. May 16 2003 Kong was at least hitting .227... I do give him this, he has a better OBP than 2003.. but this hitting is starting to depress me. Edited May 17, 2005 by YahtzeeSox
Brian
2 weeks ago. His 2 homer game vs. Toronto have me hope...that quickly faded.
BobDylan
Aside from his average, he's the most productive hitter on the team. Not sure what that says about their offense.
Wise Master Buehrle
Anybody, if thrown into the 3 or 4 hole would have 20 RBI's, thanks to Pods and Gooch.
mmmmmbeeer
He needs a day off. Gload is hurt so they're gonna have to stick JD or Carl in there to play 1st a day or two. I love paulie but really hope he's gone after this season. His inconsistency in the heart of the order is a killer.
southsideirish71
The constant strikeouts are the most disturbing trend. Watching fastballs down the middle of the plate with the game on the line for strike three is unacceptable.

Jabroni
PK is a f***ing automatic out and he needs to sit his ass on the bench. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed, let him think about all those perfect strikes he takes right down the pipe.
greg775
Hitting under .200 is depressing. He's got to do better than that. How the heck is our record what it is?? Guess it's the pitching. Hope Fred, Duke, and Cont just had one bad outing and got 'em outta their system. We need Buehrle, Garland and Freddie to excel all season long if we hope to win the division. Chances are that both got hurt in the same game are pretty slim. Tigers did it last year and they were fine.

Even Rooney and Farmer said the same thing. They were their only two catchers on the major league roster all year i believe except difelice who was up for about five minutes. It is a risk but not a huge one considering i am only talking about giving konerko a couple days rest, not the whole season.

Yeah, they make great decisions including giving Magg$ a bazillion dollars when they really needed starting pitching. I hope we don't ever try to copy anything the Tigers do. jackie hayes
I agree w/ qwerty that you're talking about one REALLY small risk. I mean, it's not like the risk that the game goes so long that Widger has to pitch after using all your pitchers... How many times (over the past 25 years, say), has a team had to use an emergency catcher because of injury to 2 catchers? And anyway, if it were that awful, why would teams ever ph for the catcher in the final inning?

Yeah, they make great decisions including giving Magg$ a bazillion dollars when they really needed starting pitching. I hope we don't ever try to copy anything the Tigers do. They were just one example. Other teams have done similar things such as playing starting their back up second base man else where or back up third base man else where. It is pretty common really. I just don't see the huge risk that you and rooney and farmer do.

The Tigers offense is how much better than the Sox, even without Maggs? What you are doing is questioning the front office moves, something Dave Dombrowski is in charge of. What qwerty is bringing up is managerial moves, something Alan Trammell and the coaching staff is in charge of. Apples and oranges.
