Raymond series finale...

So I watched the Everybody Loves Raymond series finale. It sucked, as most finales do. But the show was great and I still enjoy watching the reruns.

Anyways, it got me thinking as to which finales were actually good. The only one I can think of that I really enjoyed was MASH. I was also trying to remember how Cheers ended...

Anybody else have any?

IMO, Newhart had the best ending (when Bob woke up in his bed back in Chicago, on the set of his former series... his job as an inkeeper in Vermont had all been a dream).  That was genius.

Absolutely...this was the Best. Finale. Ever.

And, the more I watch the Seinfeld finale, the more I like it. It was a disappointment at the time, but it really showed how shallow and uncaring they were.

Of the season finales that I've seen:

Seinfield sucked. Rosanne sucked. Married With Children sucked.

Home Improvement was ok but they were missing one kid. From what I heard, the actor (Jonathon Taylor Thomas?) didn't come back for the show...

Wonder Years was awesome. One of the best series finales I've ever seen.

Cheers I never really watched but it seemed like a pretty good finale.

And I, huge dork, liked the Quantom Leap series finale--but I like EVERYTHING about that show. :)

The Robin Ventura walk off grand slam off of Goose Gossage is my favorite series ending.

Loved the Wonder Years and Family Ties ones. Cheers was good, too.

Was very disappointed in Seinfeld, though.

Goodbye, Farewell, Amen -- MASH

Not their best episode, but they tried to make it a real episode, not a faked out, hug in.

Carson's last Tonight Show was pretty awesome.

And finally, while not a tv show, it was taped and shown on tv

"Fans, for the past two weeks you have been reading about a bad break I got. Yet today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth. I have been in ballparks for seventeen years and I have never received anything but kindness and encouragement from you fans. Look at these grand men. Which of you wouldn't consider it the highlight of his career just to associate with them for even one day? Sure I'm lucky. Who wouldn't have considered it an honor to have known Jacob Ruppert? Also, the builder of baseball's greatest empire, Ed Barrows? To have spent six years with that wonderful little fellow, Miller Huggins? Then to have spent the next nine years with that outstanding leader, that smart student of psychology, the best manager in baseball today, Joe McCarthy? Sure, I'm lucky. When the New York Giants, a team you would give your right arm to beat and vice versa, sends you a gift, that's something. When everybody down to the groundskeeper and those boys in white coats remember you with trophies, that's something. When you have a father and mother work all their lives so that you can have an education and build your body, it's a blessing. When you have a wife who has been a tower of strength and shown more courage than you dreamed existed, that's the finest I know. I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth. And I might have been given a bad break, but I've got an awful lot to live for." - July 4, 1939 at Yankee Stadium on Lou Gehrig Appreciation Day

Oh geez, I thought I was the only one who used to love Quantum Leap. I remember that finale was rushed cuz it was suppose to go on with Sam leaping but not into other people's lives. Just leaping around time as himself, but NBC pulled the plug and we got the ending we got.

I missed that one. It was a pretty good show but I stopped watching it towards the end.

I have this bad habit of missing season finales. I just saw the Rosanne one a couple of weeks ago...
