sox-r-us
Konerko pulled each of his three hits. But he also hooked a few drives that landed foul. Should he try to hit to the opposite field more often? "I'm a pull hitter," Konerko said. "I've been a pull hitter since I was 5. That doesn't mean I can't hit some balls the other way. ================= I hope we do not sign this guy in the offseason. :banghead http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines

It squares and centers everything up for you.

Dear Mr. Konerko, If you tell everyone "I am a pull hitter" they will continue to paint the outside corner getting you to GIDP and pop up. You will have some impressive power numbers as they will have to come in at some point, however you will have Rob Deer numbers. Lots of dongs, tons of K, and a 214 BA. In my opinion his wife should be giving him a swift kick in the nuts over this. This approach and telling people in the paper what we already know is going to hurt him in his pocket book as this is his contract year. Iguana
Frank needs to smack him upside the head and tell him to just go with the pitch. in high school my coach tried to make me pull the ball and it totally screwed up my swing. i was at my best when going with the pitch. i could always just poke that outside pitch in to right. paulie needs to try the same. rafacosta
What PK said is just atrocious. He can go in the end of the season. 1Bmen are easy to find...but if he wants a contract below what he is earning now, lock him up.

It's pitiful that Paulie can't learn to hit to RF. It's Iguchi's first friggin' year seeing MLB pitching and he hits to RF all day long. I lost a lot of respect for Paulie with that quote. If you can't hit to the opposite field, f***ing learn how to, just like Rowand said he had to learn how to bunt.
sox-r-us
The next time any moron here defends Paulie over Frank, they can go to hell. I remember how some of these fools were kissing Paulie's behind when he called out Frank a few years back. Paulie is so over-rated it is not even funny. I wish we had traded him in the last offseason and signed Delgado instead.
GoodAsGould
I was really pulling for us to trade Konerko over Carlos Lee... a course with Podsenick coming our way it worked out for the best but still. Konerko seems like a great guy and all but I dont think he is worth 6 million a year and he is already getting paid more than that, i wont have a problem if he isnt resigned. Although he does seem to be an overall fan favorite so that might have some play in the white sox resigning him.....

Sorry, it doesn't turn me into a hater. I'm sick and tired of athletes who are fakes, phonies, outright liars, as well as those who issue cookie-cutter answers. Tell it like it is IMO. So he's a pull-hitter and isn't hiding from the fact. Perhaps his swing adjustment (for which he ALSO got crucified) was trying to help him add further dimensions to his swing. It obviously hasn't worked out.

All he said is that he's a pull hitter, big deal. Maybe he meant he's a lot more comfortable, or it's more natural for him to pull the ball, than to go opposite field. I bet that's true for most hitters. It's not like he said, he's never gonna gonna try to go to the opposite field. In fact, he said the opposite. Like teams don't know he's a pull hitter. I think people are forgetting that during the past week he moved a runner over by hitting the ball the other way and has done that a lot in his career as a Sox hitter. Teams don't have scouting reports on players and watch videos of them. They would have never found that out without konerko's help. He is a jackass. YASNY
Quote fron Joe Crede: “I was swinging a little awkward in the cage and figured I was swinging way too hard,” Crede said. “I was just trying to do too much out there. I just went up with the approach to take the single up the middle, and good things came of it.” Now look at post #2 from this thread. I wish we had traded him in the last offseason and signed Delgado instead. Would we have gotten the same package as what we got for Lee? Would we still have Pods? Would Jermaine Dye be around to wake up from his slumber? Also, if we let Paulie go, there aren't that many great first baseman available to sign this off-season.
