rafacosta
I saw a report on the Tribune saying Pods won't start today to give place to Carl. What is Ozzie thinking? I know Carl is LH agst RH in Zambrano, but Pods, as everybody is saying, will drive him nuts. Moreover, Carl is struggling, he is hitting s*** in the last few games. And Carl should not play this game even if it is in place of Dye, he is getting on a groove. Ozzie, stick with this line-up! Everett back Carl Everett will return to the lineup Saturday in either left or right field, with Podsednik probably sitting. Guillen faces a tough call because Dye's emerging and Podsednik had two hits, including a bunt single during a three-run fifth. Podsednik also stole a base to increase his major-league-leading total to 25.
Jabroni
http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/211sd2.htm As far as the pitches inside, that might be taken to another level today, when the Cubs send Carlos Zambrano to the mound. There were rumors swirling Friday that Zambrano wasn't happy with a few of the Sox players who made comments about his mound demeanor. Guillen said his team is prepared for anything. "That's fine," he said. "If we get hit, (the Cubs) know what's going to happen."

SoxFan562004
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) Could you imagine a bench clearing brawl with the Cubs... Daley would need to call out the national guard like his dad did in 68. Cubs fans would be the hippies in that scenario, although I don't think the MC5 would be playing this time... Jabroni
Gotta love it... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/new...t=.jsp&c_id=chc For the second straight day in this series, there was a quick warning to both benches. With one out in the fourth, Zambrano hit Rowand with a pitch. One batter later, Zambrano hit Pierzynski on the right elbow, and home-plate umpire Marvin Hudson issued a warning to both teams. "He should've gotten out of the way," Zambrano said of Pierzynski. "when you see the pitch coming, you have to be able to get out of the way. It looked like he put his shoulder into it. I didn't try to hit him." "I guess that's the new baseball," Baker said of the quick warning. "I don't think he nicked him. It didn't look like it hit him. [Hudson] said 'Z' was staring at him or something, and Pierzynski was staring back, and he wanted to stop it before anything got started, but there was nothing close to getting started." Pierzynski did say something. "He didn't say it to my face," Zambrano said.
Pastime
Zambrano pitches a one-hitter through 7 innings and still gets a no decision while his team blows it. It couldn't happen to a nicer jagoff and crybaby. Here's to your next meltdown (and potential ejection) when you don't get a strike call, asshole.
