103 mph screwball
Why doesn't Konerko run over to first and step on the bag himself rather than wait for Freddie or one of our more fragile pitchers to pull a hamstring trying to get there? I don't mean when he dives or has no chance to make the play himself. I realize Paul is slow and that the pitcher is supposed to bust his ass to get over there. I'm just curious if that is something that can be improved on or if that is the way it is. Any insight? I don't mean to be negative after a nice win Just curious about that play

Chisoxfn
Because its just in your head to get the ball to the pitcher. Its the way the play is made. Hell, I still don't know if Paulie would of got him had he not thrown it. Thats a play where you always throw it to the pitcher.

nitetrain8601
First, I will say this. Freddy should've ran harder to get over there. I will say this now, PK had enough time to run it back himself. He wasn't that far off the bag. He could've easily made the play, but I understand why he didn't.
YASNY
The firstbaseman, when he has any doubt about his ability to get to bag before the hitter, is supposed to toss to the pitcher. It's the pitcher's job to be there and Garcia wasn't. Garcia's fault. Plain and simple.
