The Flubbs have been yelling and screaming about whats going to happen tomorrow/next week/next year for as long as I can remember. Too bad for them they never can brag about what they've done as it always involves LOSING.

I like your enthusiasm but you need to stay away from those MLB boards.

They can be amusing, but don't care about what people post on there.

It's all extreme talk and it means nothing.

Stay here for enjoyable, troll-free, and informative posts.

This may not be the thread for this, but does this feel like The 2003 Yankee series and Neal Cotts all over again? In this instance garland could be pitching for the sweep, instead a rookie is going. Someone please ease my mind. :pray

cotts walked 171 batters in 311 minor-league innings before that day.

mccarthy has walked 74 in 364 minors innings. and he led the minors in Ks last year.

hope that helps.

I believe it will be more like Wilson Alvarez's first big league start than Neal Cotts'.

On top of what everyone else has said, the 2005 Flubs are not anywhere near the caliber of team the 2003 Yankees were.

The Sox have already earned bragging rights for at least the next month.

We dont have to say a damn thing. The records speak for themselves.

White Sox 31-12 -

Flubbs 18-22 11.5

Head to Head Sox lead 2-0

Big, Big difference. First off we're not screwing around with the rotation which manuel did. Most importantly the yankees were one of the best hitting teams in the league and the tigers were just plain awful so there was no doubt where neal should have made his debut. In this instance even without vlad the angels are still a better hitting team then the flubs, Brandon's got a pretty nice situation to get started with imo.

I agree with all of this, but I'll add that Prior has actually been throwing well lately. He has the stuff to make life difficult for Sox hitters.

But just as with Zambrano, if the Sox can keep 'em close and get into that crap bullpen of theirs, the game can be had for sure.

GO GET 'EM, McCARTHY!!!!!

I've been watching Prior pitch and he's been a lot like Wood. He throws a few meatballs early in the game before he has his great control. I've seen him get hit extremely hard this season but he usually managing to get out of trouble. I think the key is to tag him early.

Agreed.

When he finds his rhythm, he's hard to get to.

I just hope Scott can get on base and cause a little trouble out there!

Great call YASNY. And you can't compare Cotts and McCarthy, we are talking about two completely different pitchers. Brandon is pinpoint, much more like a Prior or Buehrle. Cotts is wild, more like a Contreras or Wood.

prior and santana are sort of similar in the fact that you need to get to them early, i like the point brought up about diazs start against the cubs, mccarthy should do better, and if not he will redeem himself

for all we know the game is rained out and we get the sweep by default ^_^
