Maybe this is why they cut Edinger...

Ya, but Edinger hit all of them on Sunday before he was cut. I think it had more to do with the Bears being respectful of Edingers wishes. HE felt he was the odd man out and wanted an opportunity to catch on with another team as a starter (and he will). That may not of been the case had the Bears waited and waited.

Just throwing in some Bears news rather than starting a thread.

LJ Shelton in Chicago right now visiting, PER: NFL Networks Total Access.

I read that in one of the articles in the paper and was totally bumped. It looks like they'll use some of the savings on Rdub if he'll agree. He's a talented LT that has had some attitude problems.

Still, that would give the Bears a vastly improved line. Tait and Shelton (tackles), Brown and Miller (guards) and Kreutz in the middle. Big upgrade from last year.

Edinger is a pretty good indoor kicker but when he's out in the elements he becomes mediocre.

You call that mediocre? How much must you suck to be called bad? Edinger was awful yesterday, he took the Vikings out of the game yesterday much in the same way that he used to take the bears out of the the game last year. He missed short, relatively easy fieldgoals.

Actually he had 2 blocked and 1 the place holder mishandled... While in the later situation he did finally get the ball down smoothly its understandable that it messed up Edingers motion. And when a kicker gets blocked twice some of and in this case most of the blame goes to the Vikings O-Line because our guys dominated them.

I have thought for the past 2 years that Edingers trajectory after he kicks the ball has been way too low. The bears really took advantage of it, but when his second kick was blocked, the lineman was on the ground reaching up to block the ball. That block was as much Edingers fault as it was the line.
