Lawmakers pledge new measures to avoid incidents

At this point, the fine for trespassing is $100. But on Tuesday, Illinois State Senator Mattie Hunter (D-Chicago, 3rd District) announced a plan, with the support of the White Sox and U.S. Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL, 1st District), believed to be a deterrent for these disruptive actions. The legislation calls for a minimum $1,000 fine, mandatory 30-day jail sentence and possible alcohol and/or drug evaluation for anyone who trespasses onto the field.

A second offense would be a $2,000 fine, and the move would extend to any basketball court, ice rink or professional sports venue. Hunter has not talked to any other pro teams in Chicago about the legislation.

its a great plan .. too bad its a little late in the makings huh............you would think that after last seasons fiasco they would have taken it a bit more seriously and passed something like this then......maybe it could have prevented it happening last week...............
