Iwritecode
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) I'm a firm believer in 'catch up sleep'. Once every 10 days or so, I will collapse and get like 9 hours. That's when my body tells me I need it. That's what weekends are for. Chisoxrd5
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Actually, the person that first expressed that sentiment was Jules Verne's character Captain Nemo from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". The Critic
QUOTE(Steff @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) Me too. I don't know why I can't sleep. I'm not stressed.. I don't think I am overly tired (which I have heard makes some people restless). I eat right, I work out, I try to keep on a fairly normal schedule.. but I toss and turn relentlessly. And no matter what time I goto bed I am awake at 4:30 ish - which is good since I usually use that time to run.. but sucks when we're at the game or out the night before. Once in a blue moon I will take an afternoon nap on the weekends.. but that's pretty rare. For me, it's the fact that my schedule's all f***ed up. I work Sunday nights instead of Mondays, but then work days the rest of the week. So I sleep some on Monday morning, then try again on Monday night, which is always a disaster. Now I'm going to have softball games on Mondays, which will be an adventure of its own. Some days I start at 6:30 and some days at 5 am, and it's never consistent. Throw a 5-year-old into the mix, and the multitude of activities she's involved in, and my schedule is pretty stressed. She used to nap on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, so I'd grab a nap at the same time to kinda catch up. Now she doesn't like to nap anymore, so I wind up half-nodding out on the couch if we're not out running around. my schedule = :puke

witesoxfan
Now that school is out, it will be 9-10 hours a day, cept that I have summer school, so probably 6 hours again. But during the actual school year this past year, it could be like 2:00-8:00, shower quick as f***, get to school at 8:25, sleep from 9:00-9:15, get to next class, sleep from 9:19-9:34, stay awake for a little bit, sleep some more in that class, and then sleep in 4th period too. I slept a lot in school this year. Only had a teacher just go f***in psycho on me 1 time too.
Steff
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) Maybe you need a different bed...either its too soft or solid. I had a bed that was way too soft and I could never get good sleep. Uhhhh.. my bed is soooo comfy. Maybe I'm just not ready to be a 6-8 hour a night sleeper. Steff
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) I'd say don't worry about it, unless you feel tired during the day and it affects your work. Mr Dr. told me that some people just don't need as much and to listen to my body. Another tip is don't go to bed until you're actually sleepy. A lot of people go to bed because it's 'bed time', go when you're ready to sleep. Also, contrary to what a Dr. will tell you, I'm a firm believer in 'catch up sleep'. Once every 10 days or so, I will collapse and get like 9 hours. That's when my body tells me I need it. Oh, I definitely don't. I don't feel tired during the day either unless I got absolutely no sleep the night before.. it's like my cutoff is right at 4 hours. LOL.. I couldn't imagine "catch up" sleep. 9 hours.. yikes!! Jim would think I was dead..
