Wolves Back In The Calder Cup Finals!

Recommended Posts

The Wolves made short work of the Manitoba Moose, sweeping them in 4 games to advance to the Calder Cup Finals!

They will face either Providence Bruins or Philadelphia Phantoms ( likely Philly, the Phantoms are up 3 to 1 in their series ).

Go Get 'Em, Boys! Bring ANOTHER title home!!!

:cheers :cheers :cheers

Again, I hope you guys are joking because the heralded Steve Maltais couldn't cut it in the NHL.  He played half a season with Columbus and was worse than a 4th liner.  The game would be dominated by the Hawks.

I wish that were true but the Slacks would lay down and play the NHL version of corpseball just as they have been for the last 9 years or so.

Like Pauly said, most of the guys on the Wolves are guys who can't make it in the NHL. They have a couple nice players, Bouwmeester and Kari Lehtonen -- I think they have one or two others, but you're kidding yourself if you think they could beat the Hawks, as bad as the Hawks are...

Bouwmeester isnt really on the Wolves, he's on load from the Florida Panthers' affiliate. But come on, prospects for prospects the Norfolk Ads are more talented and NHL ready than the Wolves. Coburn the young kid on D, the top pick by the Thrashers in 03 couldnt hold Seabrook/Vandermeer/Barkers hockey bag... Lehtonen is barely NHL ready he would have been an AVERAGE goaltender this year, there is no comparison to these two teams.

He also had cups of coffee in Boston and Tampa and couldn't last there either.

He's a career minor-leaguer and a damn good one at that.

The Blackhawks would slap the Wolves around in a 7-game series, for sure.

If and when the NHL reopens for business, Corvo, Bouwmeester and Lehtonen wouldn't be with the Wolves for sure, and some other guys like Hawgood might get an NHL job as well.

Corvo and Bouwmeester both had set positions in LA and Florida, Lehtonen would definitely start in ATL but would be a league average at best until he gets some seasoning. Bottom line, the Wolves game is a family show, with a hockey game going on. Blackhawks games are hockey games, with no shows...
