Kalapse
Jerome Williams and David Aardsma for Latroy Hawkins and cash considerations. Source 670 the Score.
Soxbadger
SF must be really down on Williams after his start this season. He could be a nice starter for the Cubs. SB
WHarris1
Awesome trade for the Cubs IMO. Hawkins needs to move on. Jerome Williams was good in 03 and 04. Just struggling this year. He's better for them than LaTroy.
3E8
And they dump his large salary? Nice move by Cubs imo. EDIT: Didn't see 'cash considerations'. I wonder how much salary they had to eat. Edited May 28, 2005 by 3E8
Jabroni
Yep, just heard. My Flubs buddy will be happy. That is a pretty good trade for them. LaChoke sucks ass.
AddisonStSox
What a great trade by the Cubs. This is a very, very impressive move from Jim Hendry. Aardsma might end up being the jewel of the trade.
Rowand44
Wow, I'm shocked the giants gave up on Williams, he's got a chance to be a good one. Besides that though I think this has the potential to be a good trade for both teams. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Latroy with a change of scenery absolutely dominates again in a set up role. Aardsma might end up being the jewel of the trade. He is an awesome pitcher from Rice. I remember watching on espn2.
Kalapse
How is it possible that the Cubs continue to fleece teams like this. Jerome Williams has the potential to be a stud in the big leagues for years to come. Latroy Hawkins is a piece of s***.

Kalapse
You can't just say a change in scenery will suddenly turn around a guy like Latroy Hawkins, his head is majorly f***ed up. He'll suck in San Fran. Book it.

bulokis
WTF? Who is the GM of SF, is he drunk or what. Good trade for the cubs. Jerome Williams is one of my fave young pitcher.
AddisonStSox
Random piece of information per ESPN Radio 1000, Aardsma is the alphabetically first player in the history of baseball.

Buehrle>Wood
How do the Cubs rape teams like this? I don't get it. I'm not even giving props to Hendry either. These trades you have to just run into, but the Cubs seem to do it a lot.

Kalapse
This is the most MVP baseballish trade the Cubs have pulled off yet. Jerome Williams and Aardasma both have kind of low ratings because they're young and Latroy Hawkins has a decent rating because he's a veteran. You trade the s***ty older Vet. for the two you minor league studs. It's good video game strategy.
Jabroni
David Aardsma was probably the key guy in the trade. He was lighting it up in the minors. Jerome Williams was sucking it up in the minors. Edited May 28, 2005 by Jabroni
