Jabroni
"Wells on block?" http://torontosun.com/Sports/Baseball/2005...060288-sun.html Wow, he has sucked this season. I bet he misses Carlos Delgado. Edited May 29, 2005 by Jabroni
nitetrain8601
Probably because he doesn't have protection in the lineup. I would take a good look at him. Anyone know his contract situation?
Jabroni
Probably because he doesn't have protection in the lineup. I would take a good look at him. Anyone know his contract situation? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wells has a 5-year, $14.7 million contract (2003-2007)... $0.85 million signing bonus 2003: $0.35 million 2004: $0.70 million 2005: $2.90 million 2006: $4.30 million 2007: $5.60 million So whatever team traded for him would be taking on $12 million over 2.5 years. CWSGuy406
Jermaine Dye for Vernon Wells. Ok, so Riccardi wouldn't do that, but I would.

Be Good
He's not do that bad 2.21 8 21. Having him on my fantasy team , I know I expected better. I think we should take a serious look at him while he's value is low.
ZoomSlowik
Wells would definitely be nice, he's a very good fielder with some pop. I'm not surprised he isn't hitting that well now, the offense in Toronto is pretty iffy. If we could get him I'd happily dump one of our struggling players and throw in a decent to good prospect. Worst case scenario you get a better fielding Dye who's younger and costs about the same, best case you get a middle of the order hitter. knightni
Dye, Baj and Tracey might get him.
DBAHO
Would you deal Aaron Rowand for Vernon Wells?
Punch and Judy Garland
I'd take vernon over Aaron. Vernon had a slow start last year. He had an awful April and then hammered the ball in May. THis year, he has hit 60 points better in May. It's sort of ti-for-tat though to trade the two
CanOfCorn
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 29, 2005 -> 05:19 AM) Would you deal Aaron Rowand for Vernon Wells? No, not because I think Aaron is better, but because I think Aaron better tipifies this team. Hard working, will do anything, throw his body around. Not that Vernon Wells doesn't do those things, I just wouldn't trade Rowand for Wells. Now, if it was Dye for Wells....
EvilJester99
If there is the slightest chance to get Vernon Wells KW needs to jump all over this.....
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(knightni @ May 28, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Dye, Baj and Tracey might get him. I'd be the happiest man alive if thats all it took. I'd be willing to give up Sweeney if it was necessary.
