BHAMBARONS
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 30, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) Barons lose 5-2. Young 2-3 with a walk, 2 doubles, and both runs. Malone struggled, but Honel pitched well in relief. The new Cub prospect, Aardsma got the win. Box Score Malone wasn't to bad he just faced a .300 hitting team and they took advantage of every chance they had in the game. Also the 3 runs in the 5th should be unearned but they gave Murton a 2 run triple on a ball lost in the sun but I can't blame Young either because all of the sudden the sun came out. So the box score here is very misleading

DBAHO
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) I was wondering where this post went... Oh well. f*** the Dutch too. They're loving you in Amsterdam right now. Fields' AVG drops to .213, the way he's going, it'll be below .200 soon. Chris Young keeps doing his thing. I know there's been a lot of Mike Cameron comparisons, but even if he makes it to the majors, he's gonna need a lot of time to adjust, Cameron has only really come out this season and really started smoking with the bat. You know what, if Kenny needs to make a big move at the deadline, I hope that Josh Fields is one of the top chips, as opposed to a guy like Brian Anderson, who's hit everywhere he's been. I'm just sayin', it would be a real shame to see a second OF'er traded at or near the deadline (both guys who produced a helluva lot in the minors, too). Yes he's been struggling, but that was probably to be expected at some stage. If we deal him, who's going to replace Crede in the future? Right now his value probably wouldn't be too high either, but we'll have to see what happens. I guess a key to determining whether or not Brian Anderson stays with us is the future of Frank Thomas and Jermaine Dye. If one of those 2 doesn't return next season, there'll be an opening for Anderson.
CWSGuy406
DBaho, I'm jumping on Fields way, way too early. You know what, I don't expect him to hit .230 the whole year with limited power. But, I'd hate to see someone like Brian Anderson, who's proved that he can hit at every minor league level, traded, while we "wait" for a guy's potential, ala Josh Fields. Yeah but unfortunately the state of things on the major league team, puts that question up in the air a little more. Now if Anderson played 3B we wouldn't have a problem at all, but he doesn't. Fields needs to take his time. He's a lot like Joe Borchard (I don't mean that in a bad way), so he cannot be rushed at all. Birmingham is a pitchers park, so it is a bit of a transition for him. Give him the whole season there, then he can start next year of at Charlotte if he has a good spring training.

I think he'll slowly develop into a guy that could turn into a .300 hitter in the majors. It will be interesting to see how he progresses this year as well as to see what Fields does. I tend to agree with Keith though in the sense that even though the Sox have nothing else at 3rd (although I'm high on Schnurstein) I would probably deal him over Anderson as well. Guest JimH
Charlotte lost last nite 6-3, Robert Person must've been scratched because Dennis Ulacia started and took the loss. Anderson 0-4 as he dips below .300, Gload was 1-3 with a BB and two K's. Here's the box: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...swbaaa_chraaa_1 Winston-Salem hangs on to win 10-9, Schnurstein goes 2-4 as he plays 3B, he is hitting .277. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...myrafx_wswafx_1 Kannapolis wins 7-4, decent start for Luke Harell, Clint King goes 1-2 with two BB and an RBI. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...romafx_kanafx_1 Last edit, Robert Person is starting tonite (5/31) for Charlotte. CWSGuy406
Jim when is Gload slated to come back up here? This is such bulls***. Today is my last day of school, and most people have to take a final -- I have to take a survey on how hard my gym class was. Yuck.

Yuck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought I'd heard the Sox say a few days ago that Gload would need several more days, so who knows. I had to do a survey on gym class once, one of the questions was "what was the most difficult part of the class" or something like that. My response was it was very difficult to concentrate with all those girls running around in gym shorts.

To me it seems like Ross is ready to go, I think they're is a good possibility that they have no clue who they want to send down so they're holding off on it a bit.
