BHAMBARONS
Montgomery 3 Barons 1 W-Henderson L- Jenks Rogowski had 2 doubles tonight one to each field. Philips was on yet again 1 run in 7 innings run came on a mishandled ball at 3rd a dropped line drive. Chris Young had a chance to win it in the 7th runner at 3rd 1 out and Chris grounded out weak to 3rd. Josh Fields continues to have no idea at the plate right now a good Fields AB is to make contact which he did 2 times out of 8 tonight. 66 K's now. Jenks gave up a couple loopers then an Aceves passed ball and swinging bunt plated both runners. Only 4 hits for montgomery but took advantage of every scoring opportunity. Montgomery 4 Barons 1 W-Hammel L- Tracey Gonzo and Jerry Owens had a 2 hit games. Tracey pitched well getting 7 K's Made one bad pitch to Delmon Young but is there really a bad pitch to this guy. There was a fight between Tracey and Elijah Dukes in the 5th after Dukes was hit by a pitch after the half inning ended Dukes shoved tracey in the chest and then Tracey unloaded on Dukes, Dukes on top of getting the worst of the fight also was thrown out of the game. Gene Honda Civic
From a scouting report on Dukes : Dukes actually slid quite a bit because of his football scholarship, but also because of some off-the-field issues. He has been arrested for assault, has taken anger management courses the last two years, and has had his share of ejections and arguments on the field. That guy's a winner: Arrested 3 times in 13 months Outfield prospect Elijah Dukes was arrested early Tuesday on a first-degree misdemeanor charge of battery (domestic violence). Dukes is to remain in jail until this morning, when he is expected to have bail set by a Hillsborough County judge. According to police, Dukes was having an argument with his sister then grabbed her by the throat and punched her in the left arm. It was the third time Dukes, a Tampa resident, has been arrested in the past 13 months, though a December 2003 misdemeanor assault charge was dropped. He has also been arrested as a juvenile. Rays spokesman Rick Vaughn said the team had no comment. Despite missing time last season to attend anger management classes, Dukes hit a combined .312 with 10 homers and 49 RBIs in 101 games at Class A Charleston (S.C.) and Bakersfield and was ranked the team's seventh-best prospect by Baseball America.
