Fotop
Bah, f'n Boras. I would have loved Hansen, but Broadway is quality too.

dasox24
Oh man, did I call the Broadway pick! I just had one of those feelings that he wasn't our "Plan D." Edited June 7, 2005 by dasox24
southsider2k5
The thing is with having only 1 pick in the first two plus rounds, we HAVE to make sure they are signable. This was the smart move.

Chisoxfn
f***ing hell, I'd rather of had Hansen/Hochevar/Carillo. I hope to hell this works out. Broadway has pitched exceptionally well against some of the better teams in college baseball as of late. I just don't like drafting guys in the 1st round without a decent fastball. He has a hell of a curve though and seems to paint the zone which is a sign of a fast riser. I'm guessing it will be a very very quick sign (ie by the end of the week). Chisoxfn
Rangers won't take a Boras guy so the Cubs are gonna nab Hochevar, imo. They could go with Hansen too. Man Boras is having a major effect on those two. I'm now thinking Tyler Greene will be there in the 3rd round after seeing whats happened with the rest of the guys. Carillo just went off the board, very good move by the Pads.

maggsmaggs
Boras is clearly what's wrong with baseball, he has changed the entire draft and the best teams still get the better talent. Pawelek for cubs
Chisoxfn
Cubs pass on Hochevar and take Pawlek. He was the top rated high school pitcher. Interesting on how much Boras' clients are sliding. You know the Yanks will snag them. Heck, the BoSox could get agressive in this draft and end up with two really good guys with there picks. maggsmaggs
Sawks could take Hovecher and Hansen, that would be one hell of a draft.

Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) I just don't like drafting guys in the 1st round without a decent fastball. He has a hell of a curve though and seems to paint the zone which is a sign of a fast riser. Drafting pitchers without a decent fastball should come as no suprise. It must be written somewhere only Minnesota, Oakland, and Cubs draft pitchers with live arms. These players are always available for these organizations to swoop in and draft.
