ISF
Dmitri Young is getting the shaft at DH, and Manny should not be in the OF. Otherwise, hard to argue with those selections.
Texsox
I'd rather our guys rested. I stopped watching the AS game a long time ago.

Kalapse
QUOTE(ISF @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Dmitri Young is getting the shaft at DH, and Manny should not be in the OF. Otherwise, hard to argue with those selections. 1st base. Texiera should be starting. Tino's numbers don't compare. Not to mention Vlad and Ichiro in the outfield. Vlad's numbers are way down this year plus he's hurt and Ichiro is only batting .310. Neither of them should be starting. Damon should start in the outfield. Kalapse
My 2005 All Star Starters as I would pick them as of 06.06.05: American League 1B - Mark Teixeira 2B - Brian Roberts SS - Miguel Tejada 3B - Alex Rodriguez C - Jason Varitek DH - David Ortiz OF - Gary Sheffield OF - Johnny Damon OF - Torii Hunter The third Outfield spot is a tough choice between Torii Hunter, Manny Ramirez, Ichiro Suzuki and Vladimir Guerrero. Vlad Guerrero's numbers are down in all categories, Ichiro is only batting .310 and Torii Hunter is about equal with Manny. Manny has 4 more HRs and 9 more RBIs but Torii Hunter has 11 more SBs and 12 more points on his batting average. Torii Hunter's excellent defense pushes him past Manny. I know that's 7 AL East players but I think they deserve it.
Milkman delivers
The entire starting line-ups for both the Yankees and Red Sox are somewhere in the top 5 of each category. The Orioles' starting line-up is somewhere in there besides 2 OF spots and 1B. That's disgusting. :headshake

Kalapse
QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) f*** torii hunter, i hope i never see him in an all star game. im gonna be laughing when pujols is ahead of dlee in the standings I tried to use no bias and go strickly on who deserves to be there. Derek Lee should start at 1st base for the NL but it's not a huge upset having Albert Pujols start over him considering how Pujols has been arguably the best player in baseball since he broke into the league. Credepopsup
Not many outfielders with all star numbers so far. Damon Sheffield and one of Hunter or Crawford would be my choices. Hunter .267avg 7 HR 34 RBI 14 SB Crawford .277avg 5 HR 32 RBI 15 SB After much deliberation, I've made a decision.. ..f*** Hunter. Crawford it is. Crawford it is. I saw the same. I was looking through some of the best outfielders in the bigs this year when I noticed that all the best outfielders are in the National League. There are like 5 viable outfielders in the AL. National League Bobby Abreu Carlos Lee Miguel Cabrera Cliff Floyd Brady Clark Adam Dunn Milton Bradley Luis Gonzalez Jason Bay Brian Giles Jim Edmonds J.D. Drew Pat Burrell American League Gary Sheffield Carl Crawford Manny Ramirez Torii Hunter Johnny Damon Ichiro Suzuki Scott Podsednik Vernon Wells

WHarris1
Personally I think Garret Anderson needs consideration in the OF, doesn't walk much but all his other numbers are more than solid.
