He might get the call in september.... Right now there's no reason to move him up the chain and have him play for a team who's well out of contention.

I've seen him pitch twice. He's got a dynamite fastball, and a large frame, so there's a chance he could add to his already 97MPH heat. The M's have been careful with him, so careful they he only threw his slider a handful of times last season. I can only remember seeing two in the two starts I've seen. Still gets a little wild at times. The nearest comparison I would make to any current pitcher is Carlos Zambrano.

He's gonna be a good one....

I'm not an expert by any means. But he is the best pitching prospect in probably the past 10 years. He's 19 years old and should be called up sometime around the All-Star break in my opinion. There have been rumblings of his call-up for a month now, so it could happen anytime. He has a great fastball that can sit at 95-96 and just as good of a curveball, he also has a plus changeup and maybe his best pitch is his dominant slider. The Mariners are scared about letting him throw it though I have heard. Felix has it all, the right stuff, the right attitude and all at an amazingly young age.

Has anyone seen this kid pitch in person?

I hear so much about him, and can't wait to see him in the bigs.

When do you think he will get called up?

I saw him pitch down in ST this year. Holy s*** his stuff is as advertised. Still had a bit to work on but if I were the Mariners I'd already have him up. The only reason I think he's down in the minors is because the Mariners don't want to be blamed for rushing him up and putting too big of expectations on him.

Once they are out of the race he can come up and be eased in over half a season. The guy is a total phenom though and diehard Mariners fans are going to have high expectations. Lets just put it this way, stuff wise he's off the charts. His fastball is as explosive as it gets and he has a hell of a slider.

I've read reports that's he hit 90 MPH...on a slider. That's not fair.

I seen him in Memphis last month and WOW is all I can say 97 on the Fastball all game long even in the 7th his last inning. He has a great low change up also a great 12-6 curve and talking with a Seattle Scout he has three 70 and above pitches on the 20-80 Scale plus the change that is a 60. Could be the best pitcher Seattle has ever developed.
